Unit 9 Have you ever been to a museum?Yu Mengsi1. Analyze of the Teaching Material This class is a listening and speaking class. It aims to arose students learning interests in this unit and enable student can use the target language to talk about the places they have been to.2. Analyze of the Students They have learned English for more than one year. Some of them can develop a good learning habit. Some of them feel it is difficult to learn English. So the teacher should arose their interests in learning English and help them to form a good learning habit.3.Teaching Objectives1). Knowledge and Ability Objectives Master these words: amusement park, space museum Master and use the target language to talk about the places they have been to freely.2). Process and Methods Task-based language teaching Communicative language teaching Pair work and group work.3). Emotion Attitude and Value Objectives Share happiness with others. We should be proud of being Chinese.4. Teaching Key and Difficult Points1. Master the new words and the target language.2. Can use the target language to talk about the places they have been to.5. Teaching Aids1). A computer for multimedia use.2). Making multimedia courseware.6. Teaching Procedures:1). Warm Up Greeting the whole class as usual Play a song “Days on my past ”T: Ask “Where have you been on you last summer”S: I have been to T: Where do you want to go this summer vacation?S: I want to go Purpose: The use of English songs to create an atmosphere of learning English, while for the following study to pave the way.2). PresentationT: Well, You have been to many places. Have you ever been to a museum?Then show some pictures of museums and introduce some words “space museum” “history museum” “art museum” “amusement park” as well as the sentence Pattern “Have you ever been to a/an ?Objective: Use some pictures to teach the key words, is conducive to the students to remember the words, intuitive, vivid, lively, increase the interest of students learning English, and practice the key sentence patterns, inspire students to think. 3). PracticeT: Show two pictures and ask “Where did I go?”S: You have been to Shanghai.Teacher help students use “Have you ever been to Shanghai?” “Yes, I have. ” to ask and answer questions.Ask students to look at some pictures and work in pairs like this:A: “Have you ever been to ?B: Yes, I have./ No, I havent.A: Me too./ Me neither./ Neither have I.Purpose: Create a variety of real language communication scenarios, and enhance the students mastery of the target language4). ListeningTask 1 Pre-listening: Ask students to look at pictures in 1a. Ask “What are they talking about?” Then do 1a Rank the places from 1-5.Task 2 While-listening:Have they ever been to these places? Ask students to listen and check the boxes.Ask students to read the tapescripts and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.Purpose: To reduce the difficulty of listening, train the students listening skillsTask 3 Post-listening: Ask students to role play the conversation in 1c.5). Group Work Tony is an exchange student in China. He wants to travel around our country. He needs someone to be his guide. Ask students to talk about the places they have been in China, and find out the best guides. At last make a report.6). Sum UpAsk students to sum up what we have learned in this class and then give the summarize.Ask students to work hard and make our country more beautiful.Purpose: Cultivate the students ability of self-evaluation and self feedback.7). HomeworkLevel 1: Copy the new words and read the tapescripts.Level 2: Write the report.Purpose: The use of hierarchical task, so that each student has been improved on the basis of the original, to promote the development of each student8).
