And the use of the fuel cell cost is higher, so we can use several kinds of renewable energy all together. We plan to use the solar energy, wind energy and biomass energy in the system. We first use of wind power and solar energy to meet the load, when the wind and solar energy cant satisfy the load requirements, we start diesel engine and fuel cell to make power; When the wind and solar power generation is enough, we use the hydrogen to store energy. This is the simulation of the system designed:The curve shows the load of Ventotene in 2002:We can see that the peak power appear in the August. We chose the Roma to be the installation place. The solar constant is 4871 KJ/(hr*)The curve of the Renewable energy production:The curve of Diesel generators energy production:We can see that only one diesel generator works for the most time, two or three diesel generators work only in May to August when the load get the load peak and the renewable energy production cant satisfy the load demand.The rated power of one diesel generator is 300kW, the Maximum number of diesel generators on duty is three.The curve of the Energy to storage (H2):The curve of Energy from storage (H2):The curve of Storage tank state of charge behavior:The curve of Dumped energy:We can see In the peak period, the less energy wasted.Because System only produce carbon dioxide link only diesel generator work interval, while the volume of diesel used is 7.12303E+05L.Energy released by diesel generator combustion:CO2 emissions: Conclusion:In stand alone power systems, we can see the integration of renewable energy technologies could reduce the amount of use of diesel fuel and Carbon dioxide emissions. If we choose the bigger wind turbine or the more PV panels, we can get the more energy. But this measure will improve the cost, and the solar radiation and wind velocity are limited, so the production room for improvement of the energy is also limited.The energy storage can store the excess energy, and this part of the stored energy can also be used to generate electricity when the energy production can not meet the load demand, which thus improving the energy efficiency of the system.
