Analysis the Internet Language from the Aspect of SociolinguisticsWith the rapid development and wide use of Internet in China, communication on the Internet has become one of the ways for more and more people to communicate and entertain with each other. So there comes out a new speech community and a new kind of language called network language. We have been so familiar with network language that we will have a doubt: What is network language and its influential factors if we see it from the aspect of sociolinguistics? This study analyses the language from the influence of dialect, age, gender and status. While we obtain these information, I believe it can help us better understand network language, standardize this language and enrich the knowledge system of language.From a long time past, many people have done some related researches about the network language. They describe this kind of language from many aspects, but seldom from the sociolinguistic points of dialect, age, gender and status. For instances:The English linguistics expert Crystal(2001) thinks that language variety has five characters such as graphic features, orthographic features, grammatical features, lexical features, and discourse features. He defines network language as a medium that appears in every kind of Internet environment and can reflect the unique features of the Internet.Zhao Yuying (2003) sees the abbreviation of the network language from the economic character of the language. Wang Ganghua(2002) explores the linguistic variation from the aspect of cross-culture. Li Weiran (2004) researches the network language from pragmatics aspect, and Zhang Jing and Luo Shiying (2003) observe the definition variation of the network language from the aspect of semantics. Liu Haiyan(2002) defines that network language is a specially social dialect and a unique functional language form. It is a unique expression between spoken language and written language. Some experts such as Wen Zhenqin and Liu Shanquan talk about the network languages influence to the Chinese teaching from the instrumental and humanistic point. They think that the network language has negative effect on students abilities of reading, writing and oral communication. Prevail of this kind of language is not good for students to learn normal words and grammar.Only Su Quancai (2009) has analyzed the network language from sociolinguistics. He also talks about its characters, explores why it arises and develops and the tendency of its development. To sum up, these scholars have studied this problem quite comprehensive, but they seldom analyze the network language detailed, such as the dialect has also contributed to the network language, and so is the age, the gender and the status.In order to conduct my research, I will look for many examples of the network language that net citizens use in their chatting, and also read experts researches about it. Then I will interview people who often chat with others on the Internet and who often use network language to get the information I need. These people must come from different age level and different classes, and they say different dialects. This research is a long term, so the time I need should be over several months. From the research, I think I will deduce the follow conclusions:1.Broadly speaking，the network for network communication language can refer to all areas of languageBut at the narrow speaking，language mainly refers to the network for online communities，the language of communication used，such as language in the interact chat rooms，BBS，QICQ，QQ，MSN，and so on. 2. People speaking different dialect will use the same pronunciation in their dialect to substitute the word that they want to say. 3. The old people will use less network language words than the young. 4. The male and female all use the network language, but the female will use more elegant words than the male. 5. People from different status will use different kinds of network language, and when they use network language, they will often use the words associating with their profession, and they will also invent network language by themselves.I believe that the results above will help us better understand the network language.
