Unit 3. How do you get to school? Section A (1a-1c) By Yuan Shaoyu From No. 18 Middle School of FuYang City I Teaching theories(教学理念) 1. Constructivism study theory(建构主义学习理论): Constructivism proposes that humans cannot be “given information, which they immediately understand and useInstead, humans mustconstruct their own knowledgeConstructivist view of learning is that students try to learn and master the essence of the knowledge in student-centered environment, including a seriesof authentic and meaningful activities created by teacher, such as information collection, pair or group cooperation, discussion, role play, investigation etc.2. New Curriculum Standard(2011版课程标准): Through a large amount of language practice, students can acquire language knowledge and develop language abilities in the process of “ using English to do things.” So in this class ,students will speak as much as possible. II The analysis of the students(学情分析): The students in this stage are active. They have the desire to express .They have learned the simple present tense, but they may make mistakes about the forms of verbs in describing peoples activities using the third person singular. III The analysis of the teaching material(教材分析): The topic of this unit is about transportation. It aims to help students learn to “ talk about how to get to places”. The theme is connected with students real life. So they will be interested in this topic. IV.Three dimensional objects(三维目标):(1)Knowledge and ability objects(知识与技能)Learn the news words and phrasesTrain, bus , subway, ride, bike, ride a bike, get to.Target language -How do you get to school? -I ride my bike to school.-How does Mary get to school?-She takes the subway.Through learning of this period, students will be able to improve their listening and speaking abilities. (2).Process and method objects(过程与方法) Through the practice of listening and speaking, pair work, group work and discussion, students will be able to accomplish the objects of this period.(3).Emotion, attitude and value objects(情感、态度与价值观) Through learning about different kinds of transportation , especially in the poor areas, students love for life and their awareness of traffic safety will be enhanced .V.Teaching key points and difficult points(教学重难点)(1) Teaching key points(重点) : Students will be able to talk about how to get to school using different persons. (2) Teaching difficult points(难点): The word order in how question.Two ways of expressing transportation: e.g. I go to school by bike. I ride my bike to school.VI. Teaching methods and studying methods(教法与学法):1. Teaching methods(教法). (1) .Communicative Approach.(2) .Audio-visual teaching method;(3) . Task-based teaching method; 2.Studying method(学法).(1). The Self-study Method.(2). The Cooperation Study Method. VII. Teaching aids(教具). Learn the new wordsLook at the pictures,and according to phonetics, read the news words.Spell the new words according to pronunciation rules, Develop the ability of students memorizing new words rapidly. Clear out the obstacles in the following oral and listening practice.2. Learn the target languageBy Brainstorm, all the students participate in saying the target language in different persons: how do/does.get to school? And try to answer according to the pictures.Rapidly master the target language.3. Make differences /do oral practice Look at the pictures of famous people and ask and answer using two ways to describe the transportation.E.g. He takes a bus to work./ He goes to work by bike. Deal with the difficult points .Step 3 Listening practice Pre-listening: Look at the picture and the names of people and predict the possible answers.While-listening: Make notes and choosePost-listening:Check answers.Read after the recording.Develop listening abilities and strategies of the students.Step 4 Consolidation 1. Why ?We have many choices of transportation.
