Play a guessing game.Show some pictures of the Chinese stories like“后羿射日,西游记,嫦娥奔月”etc.Ask students to guess the names of the stories. Then teach students to read the names.Show the four pictures in 1a on screen and ask students to match them with the names of the stories.Step 2 Presentation & talk1. Show two pictures on the screen and ask students to answer the question: What are they doing?Guide students to answer: They are moving a big stone.T: Long long ago, there was an old man called Yu Gong. He tried to move a mountain. Can his dream come true? Now, lets learn the story. First, learn some new words and phrases: Once upon a time; shoot; stone2. Show students a passage about a part of the story Yu Gong Moves a Mountain from the listening material in 1b.3. Get students to read the passage 4. Anna and Wang Ming are talking about the story by Wechat. Let students discuss and help them to finish the conversation. Meanwhile, check their answers.5. Give students some minutes to discuss the questions in 1c. Then ask some students to answer. After that, the teacher checks the answers.Step 3 show time T: Hollywood decides to make a movie about the story. If you are the director, you must know something about the story. Give you 3 minutes to get ready to retell the story.1. Divide students into different groups. Four students a group.2. Show students four pictures and some key words. Give them three minutes to discuss the story with their group members. They work together to retell the story.3. Group shows one by one. Then personal presentation one by one.Step4.
