Teaching procedures:Step 1. Warming-up and lead in I like animals, Do you like animals?Do you want to see some animals Step 2. Presentation1. Then show the class some pictures of animals and present animals. And ask them: Whats this in English? Its a tiger. (Then lion, panda, elephant, koala, giraffe) Ss look at the picture and try to remember the new words of the animals. Teach the new words one by one .2. Next, ask students to turn to page 25 and finish 1a.3. Check the answers with the class. Step 3. Game (Guessing game.)T: Show some pictures on the big screen. Let Ss guess what animal it is from Group One to Group Nine. Ss try to guess and remember the names of the animals. Step 4. Listening Work on 1b. Tell Ss to listen to the tape and check the animals they hear in 1a. Finish 1b.Play the recording again and check the answers with the class. Step 5. Pair work 1. Ask two students to read the conversation in 1c to the class. Lets see the lions first. Why? (why do you /does she /does he like lions?) Because they are interesting. 2. Ss practice the conversation in pairs.3. Invite some pairs to show their conversations in class.Step 6. Role-play 1. Ss work in groups of two/three/four and practice the conversation.2.
