To be able to rewrite sentences after models, using adjoint adverbial or the expression of “other than”.To learn some rules of omissions in sentences.To be able to write a note leaving a message for someone.教学设计教 学 内 容Section AText A: Even in Real Life There Were Screens Between UsSection BText B: Five Modern Time-Savers That Really ArentSection CPractical Writing: Writing Notes (2) 教学活动安排建议Leading In and Exploring the Topicl Prepare a PPT with the exercise of Exploring the Topic on P45 of SB.l Ask the Ss to match the pictures with the statements.Section A Reading Throughl Write the following 3 questions on board: 1) Do you often use any chat tools such as QQ, Wechat, and MSN to make new friends?2) How useful and important are these high-tech products in your life?3) What are the troubles that these high-tech products have brought to you?4) What would life be like if these high-tech products had not been invented orl Allow the Ss 5 minutes to discuss the questions on the board in groups of four. When time is up, ask some representatives to share the ideas of their groups with the whole class. l Let the class read aloud Text A, in different roles.One group is the narrator, the second group is “I”, another group is Paul.l Give the Ss 5 minutes to review Text A and then finish the exercise of Getting the Message on P58 of SB. l Highlight some difficult sentences and elicit explanations from students and give helps where necessary.Basic Writing Skillsl Prepare a PPT with sentences of the exercise on P62 of SB.l Ask some students to tell their answers to the class and explain why.l Check the understanding of the class by explaining the examples given on P62 of SB.Section B Reading Morel Ask the students to read and be familiar with the content of Text B.l Pair up the Ss in class and allow them 10 minutes to discuss the following questions: 1) How frequently do you check on your cell phone?2) What are the advantages of iPad?3) Can you imagine what life would be like if these high-tech products had not been made? 4) What are the disadvantages of these high-tech products?5) Name some modern high-tech products that really save your time.6) Are you against or for high-tech products?
