Unit 7 Its raining Section A(1a-1c)教学设计 兴国县第五中学 曾莎一.Analysis of the teaching material 1,Status and function:The main topic of unit 7 is the weather and Whats happening? In this unit,the students will learn ti talk about different kinds of weather,This is a topic that is related to their daily life ,so it can raise their learning interests and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English . 2,Teaching aims and demands: (1):Knowledge objects:To learn the target words raining、windy、cloudy、sunny、snowing in this lesson,The target sentence construction in this lesson is How is the weather?Its. (2):Ability objects: To develop the Ss abilities of listening、speaking、reading and writing; To improve the Ss abilities of communication. (3)Emotion objects:To train the students to love nature,and develop their good friendship. 3,Difficult and important points:To get the local weather information by using their knowledge which they have learnt.二.Analysis of the students The Ss have learnt English for about one year so far.They can understand some words and some simple sentences.The Ss have taken a great interest in English now.三.Teaching method As we know: the main instructional aims of learning English in middle school is to cultivate students basic abilities of listening、speaking、reading and writing and their good sense of the English language.So in this lesson Ill mainly use Task-basedteaching mechod.That is to say,I will let the Ss learn in real situations,finish a task by making a survey to help the Ss to get a better understanding of key structure of the conversation.Ill also use situation communicatingmethod.It can provide enough listening and speaking situations for Ss.I think good tesching methods are the keys to success.四.Study method I request the students to study English independenly cooperatively and investigatively.Each unit in Go For It contains pair work,group work and games.The students who sit at the same table and groups can make a discussion and learn from each other.It makes each student relaxed.They neednt worry about making mistakes,It can help students to think and say what they want to say.Study becomes more relaxed and pieased in this kind of environment.五.Teaching steps Ill finish this lesson in 5 steps Step1ReviewOral English ,greeting.then Ill sayIm very happy today,because Im going to take a trip next month. Step2Presentation(1)Lead in the new lesson,Ill show a map of the world,and learn the city namesBeijing,Moscow,Boston,Toronto and Shanghaiand askIf you can go with me,which city do you want to visit? Let one student choose a city.For example,the student choose Boston,Ill show the picture ,and then Ill tell them if you want to know the weather,you can ask :How is the weather?read the sentence and write it on the board.Then look at the picture and listen, answerIts windy read windyandIts windyask answer the two sentences one by one,can also read by girls and boys.after reading,Ill writeIts windyon the board.Ill use the other cities to teach the other target words“raining,sunny,cloudy and snowing”These are the sentences they must master:How is the weather?Its cloudyIt windyIts sunnyIts rainingandIts snowing.(This activity is the mainly of this lesson,it makes students to konw the new words and sentences. )(2)After learning the taeget words,Ill say“I want to visit Moscow.Its snowing in Moscow.What about you?”They can choose one city to express their own points.(This activity makes students practice the new knowledge.)(3)Chant with music,It s easy and relaxing.(This activity makes students relaxed.)(4)Look at the half pictures,then guess“How is the weather there?”(This activity is easy and interesting.)(5)Practice.Look at the pictures and say the weather,then use the five pictures and the sentences, make conversations with partners.(This activity makes students practice to understand the target language in spoken English.)Step 3The study of new lesson(1)Ill ask them to open the books and turn to P37,Ill teach 1a.(This activity introduces the key words)(2)We will do listening exercise 1b,after listening,Ill check the answers.(This activity makes students practice to understand the target language in spoken English.)(3)1c pairwork. Ask the students to make a conversation in pairs according to the mudel,Ill let some students do some oral exercises.(This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.)(4)Retell the weather in these cities,write them on the paper.then let them retell,Ill show the answers.(This activity improves students spoken and memory)Step 4 Consolidation Writing.show a map of China and many cities ,show the weather signs blow,ask “How is the weather in.” talk about the weather in these cities with others.Then say one or more sentences like“Its raining in Guangzhou.”after that,Ill say“I think youll be a good weather reporter”take out the paper,make a weather report by yourself,you can use these sentences blow,Ill give them enough time to write,then ask some students to be the little weather reporter.(This activity makes students improve their spoken English and writing ability)Step 5 Summary and homework(1)In this lesson ,we have learnt some words and sentences about the weather,you can ask and answer about local weather imformation.(2)sing a songHow is the weather.(3)Moral education,look at some pictures and know “Safety is the foundation of life”.Homework for this is: 1)Talk about the weather with others,then make a weather report. 2)Finish the exercises in the paper.(Its important for students to speak English as much as possible in class o
