Knowledge Objects:1) Key words and phrases: talk show, soap opera, sports show, sitcom, game show, talent show, news, mind, stand 2) Key sentences:What do you want to watch? What do you think of talk shows? I love them.I like them.I dont like them.I dont mind them. I cant stand them. 2. Ability Objects:1) The students can master the words and phrases to talk about TV shows.2) The students can discuss their preferences of TV shows by using the target language.3. Moral Objects1) The students are supposed to form their own independent values of the things through the correct concept of culture and cross-cultural sense.2) Stimulate students interests in learning English so that the students gain a sense of achievement and enhance their self-confidence.3) They can form a correct understanding of the popular culture and learn to apply the reasonable schedules in free time.II. Teaching Important and Difficult Points1. Key points: Master the key words and key sentences2. Difficult points: The students can correctly use the goal language to discuss the TV shows and the preferences of them. . Teaching Methods1. Listening and talking methods.2. Pair work and group work. Teaching Aids MultimediaV. Teaching ProcedureStep 1 Lead-in 1. Ask the students what they usually do in their free time.2. Ask the students whether they like to watch TV.3. Play a sitcom clip for the students.4. Ask the students what TV programs they like.Step 2 Presentation1. Show the pictures of the TV shows.2. With the teachers help, the students say the names of the TV shows. 3. The students try to remember the new words and check the words in pairs.4. Group work : Guessing game “Smashing the gold eggs”Two students act a kind of the TV show and another student guesses what kind of the TV show they acted.5. Match the TV shows with the pictures in 1a and check the answers. Step 3 Listening 1. The students listen to the recording and number the shows1-4 in 1b2. Play the recording again and check the answers with the students. Step 4 Presentation1) Ask the students what TV show they want to watch and what they think of the TV shows.2) Show the happy faces and sad faces on the screen and help the students understand the relations between them and the preferences of the things. 3) Show the pictures of the TV shows with the happy faces or sad faces and let all the students answer the questions. The students are supposed to master the following expressions:What do you want to watch?What do you think of.?I love /like /dont mind /dont like /cant stand.Step 5 Pair work 1. The students read the conversation in 1a after the teacher. Then the students role-play the conversations.2. Ask the students make their new conversations in pairs and ask some pairs to perform their conversations. Step 6 Listening 2a&2bStep 7 Pair work 2cSs use the information in 2a to make their new conversations.Step 8 Exercises1. Fill in the blanks1) My grandfather likes wearing colorful clothes.
