Unit 9 What does she look like? (1a-2d) Language goals: Describe peoples looks.Learning Objectives: I. Knowledge and skills1. get to know and be able to use the words and phrases: tall, short, thin, heavy, medium height, short hair, long hair, straight hair, curly hair, 2. learn and be able to use the sentence patterns: what does she/he look like? She is she hashair.II. Important and Difficult Points in Teaching 重点: be able to describe a person by using sentence pattern: he is he has难点:Medium height curly hair straight hair 的读音,形容词的重叠用法,is/has 的用法。学情分析七年级的学生,生性活泼好动,对游戏、竞赛、画画特别感兴趣。在课堂上尽量以鼓励表扬为主,注重培养学习英语的兴趣,营造英语氛围,鼓励学生开口说英语、特别是给差生创造机会,让他们尝试成功的喜悦。 同时,七年级的学生还存在着学习方法和学习策略经验不足等问题,但他们却有着极强的求知欲强和表现欲。根据学生的心理特点我在课上多以表扬为主,注重对学生英语学习兴趣的培养,鼓励他们大胆说!III. In this class, we are going to learn how to describe peoples look.Step 3 Presentation of the new words and expressions1. learn the words about height: tall, short, medium height and the sentence pattern: He is tall/He is short/He is of medium height by talking about the pictures.2. learn the words about build: heavy, thin, and the sentence pattern: He is heavy, He is thin, by pictures.3. learn the words about hair: long hair, short hair, straight hair, curly hair, long straight blond hair by an activity “find the difference.”, and help them sum up how to describe hair:长短+曲直+颜色。设计意图:用图片呈现目标单词和句子,对于高矮、 胖瘦的图片对比鲜明,学生印象深刻。Step 4 Do 1a by matching the pictures with the words (1a) Students then read the difficult worlds: of medium height, curly, straight. Step 5 Listening. Pre- listening: T shows Amys photo and help Ss answer: What does Amy look like? T help Ss understand the listening background: Amy is talking about her friend, lets listen and fill in the blanks. You can listen twice.While listening: the first time, check if any student get the answer, then the second time.After listening Can you find Amys friend? Read the listening material together.设计意图:通过听力再次输入并操练目标句型,通过找出Amy的朋友,检测学生是否懂得描写外貌句子的意思Step 6 2a and 2b T:Lets meet another three friends,they are David,Sally,Peter.What do they look like?Listen and find the answer.after checking the answers of 2d,ask the students who wants to draw picture of the three persons .Step 7 T:what do you often do with your friends ?.maybe you can go to the movies with your friends .learn the new words go to the movie”and Step 11 Summary Help Ss sum up the sentence patterns to describe a person.have has+名词am is are+形容词Step 7 Homework1. 收集描写人的单词 2. 用几句话描写你同桌的外貌(包括身高,体重,头发)设计意图:学生的水平不均,多设几道作业题让他们选择自己能做的题,保证大多数的同学都能完全作业。Unit9 What does he look like?(1a-1c)目标:1. 学习49页单词并学会描述人外貌的词汇;2. 学会描述人的外貌的句型。 -What does he/she look like? - He/She is, and he/she has.任务一:会说会写下列单词和句子,并理解它们的意思。1. 卷曲的_ 2. 直的_ 3. 高的_4. 中等的_ 5. 身高,高度_ 6. 中等身高_ 7. 瘦的_8. 重的_ 9.身材_ 10. 中等身材_ A:What does your friend look like ?
