教学设计Period 1 1a-1cStep 1 Revision and lead-inT: Good morning, boys and girls. Nice to see you again. Here I will play some songs for you.(After listening, ask students what they think of the songs.) What do you think of it?S1: Its nice/beautiful/T: Laura sang the song in the winter holiday. She always does her home very well.(since singing is part of the homework for the winter vocation) Laura likes to sing very much. (Review the expression “like to/like doing”)T: Allen, do you like to sing?S2: No, I dont like sing. (I dont like to sing./I dont like singing.)T: What do you like to do then?S2: I like to play the guitar.(show a picture or body language to make sure other students know what “play the guitar” means)T: Laura and Allen like different things. Look, what do they like to do?(show pictures of singing, swimming, dancing, draw, playing chess, speaking English, playing the guitar)Ss: He/she likes to They like to to sing-singing , to swim-swimming, to dance-dancing, to draw-drawing, to play chess-playing chess, to English-speaking English, to play the guitar-playing the guitarT: What do you like to do?Ss: I like to dance.T: What does he like to do ?Ss: He likes to dance.(Ask many students what like to do to practice the new expressions as well as reviewing the expression “ like to do”)Step 2 While-task (learning target language through listening )Finish 1aT: Look at the picture in 1a. What can you see?Ss: Some students ,tables and some clubs.(make sure other students also know what “club” means)T: What clubs can you see?Ss: Art clubT: Now match these activities with the pictures. (Answers: 1.e, 2.g, 3.d, 4.b, 5.c, 6.a, 7. f)Finish 1b First listening: listen and number the conversations 1-3 in 1b.Before listening, ask students to underline the key words in each conversation. e.g. swim/art club, draw/music club, sing(Answers: 2,3,1)Second listening: listen and take notes of the key words.Listen to conversation 1 and pause. (give students an example)e.g. music club, sing, can T: what does the girl want to do?Ss: To join the music club.T: Can she sing?Ss: Yes, she can.Do with conversation 2 and 3 like this to improve their listening skills. Third listening : Listen and imitate Ask students to look at the tape scripts on page 88 and follow the tape.Ask them to pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.E.G. Can you draw?(ending with a rising tone) Then ask some students to read in pairs to see who can read best.Step 3 Post-task Practice the target language in pairs.T: Can you sing ?Ss: Yes, I can./No, I cant.T: Do you want to join the music club?Ss: Yes, I do. /No, I dont. Then students follow the example and make their own conversations.They can add something if possible.Homework: Period 2 Section A 2a-2cStep 1 Review Show a picture of the basketball star Lavines slam dunk. T: Who is he ? What can he do?Ss: He is the basketball star Lavine. He can play basketball.T: And he can play itSs: very well.T: Can you play basketball?Ss: Yes, I can. (and/but)T: Now lets look at another star. (Show a picture of Kris Wu.)Who is he? What can he do?Ss: He is Kris Wu. He can sing.Ss: He can dance/play basketball/act, too.T: Can you?Ss: Yes, I can. / No, I cant.Show pictures of Sun Yang/ Jack Ma or someone they know who can swim/play chess/play the guitar/draw. Then ask students if they can do these things or what they can do. In this way, they can practice in a real context. Step 2 while-task First listening :Finish 2aT: Look at the picture in 2a. What do the students talk about?Ss: Clubs.T: What club can you see?Ss: chess club, English club, music clubT: What club do you want to join?Ss: I want to join theclub.(ask more students to answer)T: Now please listen and circle the clubs you hear.(Answers: circled: chess club, English club, music club)Second listening :Finish 2bT: Who are the three students?Ss: Lisa, Bob and Mary.T: Lets listen again and know more about them. Look through 2b and underline the key words.1. Lisa, club, cant play2. Bob, club, like to speak3. Mary, can, Mary and BobclubListen and fill in the blanks.(Answers: 1. chess, chess 2. English, English 3. sing, dance, music)Third listening : Listen , take notes and answer questionsListen to conversation 1(pause after each sentence to give students more time to take notes)Notes: Lisa, chess club, cant; John, canT: What club does Lisa want to join?Ss: She wants to join the chess club.T: Can she play chess?Ss: No, she cant. T: But Ss: But John can.T: Very good memory. I think the notes can help you, too.Deal with Conversation 2 in this way if time permits or if students are able to do it with their efforts.Notes: Bob, English club, chess(not like), like music Mary, chess club, like music(sing,dance) Music clubT: What club does Bob want to join at first? How about Mary? What do they want to join at last? Why?(This may be a difficult but nice try when improving their listening.) Fourth listening: Listen and imitate Ask students to look at page 88 , listen and imitate.
