Negative and interrogative sentences安徽师范大学 外国语学院 陈山山一、Analysis of teaching contents: This lesson will focus on the learning of negative sentence, general and special question of interrogative sentences. Students are able to grasp the sentence pattern and usage of these two kinds of sentence and discover the rules of shifting sentences pattern between declarative sentence and negative sentence and interrogative sentence through the guided discovery method. 二、Analysis of students:The most of junior high school students are interested in learning English. At first, they are positive and confidence in accepting new knowledge. Most of them can discover and understand some simple grammatical items through the teachers assistance. In addition, they already learned declarative sentences pattern in prior lessons. However, it is hard for them to concentrate attention on learning English grammar for a long time and can not completely understand the grammar teaching in a simple explicit way. 三、Teaching objectives:1. Knowledge Objectives:(1) Most of students are able to know the general sentence pattern and usage of the negative and general and special question of interrogative sentences. (2) Students are able to discover and grasp the rules of shifting sentences pattern between declarative sentence and negative sentence and interrogative sentence. 2. Skills Objectives:Most of students are able to induce and conclude the sentence pattern and shifting rule between declarative sentence and negative sentence and interrogative sentence by observation of the provided examples. 3. Moral objectives: Students are able to develop intrinsic motivation in learning English and enjoy the process in discussion and develop the collaboration among working with their partners. 四、Teaching key points and difficulties: 1. Teaching Key PointsGuide students to get the general sentence pattern and usage of the negative and general and special question of interrogative sentences and grasp the rules of shifting sentences pattern between declarative sentence and negative sentence and interrogative sentence. 2. Teaching Difficult Points(1) Focus students attention and motivated them through various tasks and activities like group work discussion, etc. (2) Guide students to discover the pattern shifting rules through observing the provided examples. 五、Teaching methods:(1) Guided discovery method (2) Discussion in pair or in groupsAt the same time, make the use of the modern electricity teaching equipments, which can mobilize the students enthusiasm and creativity in learning English grammar. 六、Teaching Procedures:Step 1 presentation(1) Observe the following examples to find the sentence pattern of negative sentence and general question and special question sentences. For instance: I am a teacher. I am not a teacher. I like apples. I dont like apples. 陈述句又可以分为肯定句和否定句。肯定句表示肯定的意义;否定句则用于表示否定意义,句中有否定词not, never等,表示“不”的意思For instance: Is this your book? /Do you like apples? 一般疑问句是指可以直接用yes或no来回答的疑问句,一般疑问句的基本结构: be动词/助动词/情态动词+主语+谓语/表语+其他?For instance: Who is singing in the room? /Whose bike is broken?What class are you in? / What does she look like?Where are you from? / What time does he get up every morning? / How do you know?特殊疑问句有两种语序:1. 如疑问词作主语或主语的定语,即对主语或主语的定语提问,其语序是陈述句的语序:疑问词(主语)谓语动词其他成分?2. 如疑问词作其他成分,即对其他成分提问,其语序是:疑问词一般疑问句语序?(2) Observe the following examples to find the rules of shifting sentences pattern between declarative sentence and negative sentence and interrogative sentence. For instance: My father is a taxi driver. My father is not (isnt) a taxi driver. There are some apples on the table. There are not (arent) any apples on the table.She was a student two years ago. She wasnt a student two years ago. He can play football very well. He can not (cant) play football very well. Mary will come to China next week. Mary will not (wont) come to China next week.如果肯定句中有be动词(am, is, are, was, were)、助动词will和have, 或情态动词(can, could, must, 等),只需在be动词、助动词will和have或情态动词之后加not即可得到相应的否定句。否定句:主语+ be动词/助动词will和have /情态动词+not+其他For instance: I like listening to pop music. I dont (do not) like listening to pop music. He goes to work every morning. He doesnt (dose not) go to work every morning. Linda drove to school last night. Linda didnt (did not) drive to school last night. 如果句子中没有be动词、助动词will和have或情态动词,则需要借助助动词do, does或did,并将not放在它们后面,并将句中实义动词变为原形。否定句:主语+dont, doesnt或didnt+动词原形+其他For instance: My father is a taxi driver. Is your father a taxi driver? There are some apples on the table. Are there any apples on the table? As a British, he can play Chinese chess very well. As a British, can he play Chinese chess very well? Mary will come to China next week. Will Mary come to China next week? 如果肯定句中有be动词(am, is, are, was, were)、助动词will和have, 或情态动词(can, could, must, 等),只需将be动词、助动词或情态动词提前至句首,其余内容照抄下来,改末尾句号为问号即可。结构:be动词/助动词will/情态动词+主语+其他?For instance: I like listening to pop music. Do you like listening to pop music? He goes to work every morning. Does he go to work every morning? Linda drove to school last night. Did Linda drive to school last night? 如果句子中没有助动词be动词、助动词will和have或情态动词,则需要借助助动词do, does或did,将它们放在句首,并将句中实义动词变为原形。结构:助动词Do, Doest或Did+主语+动词原形+其他?For instance: She is sinning in the room. Who is sinning in the room.I am in class one. What class are you in? She looks like my uncle. What does she look like?I am from China. Where are you from? He gets up at 6 oclock every morning. What time does he get up every morning?肯定句变特殊疑问句(就划线部分提问)分3步骤: 第一步:先变一般疑问句; 第二步:找合适的特殊疑问词代替划线部分; 第三步:特殊疑问词提前放到句首,并大写,其余按顺序照抄,省略划线部分。Step 2 practice (1) Shift the following sentence to negative sentence. 1. My English teacher speaks English very fast.My English teacher _ _ English very fast. (2) Shift the following sentence to general question sentence.1. He took many photos in front of the Summer Palace. _ he _ many photos in front of the Summer Palace? (3) Shift the following sentence to special question sentence.1.My mother goes to work by bike._ _ your mother _ to work?Step 3 product1. Discussion (group work) Ask students to discuss how to sum up the sentence
