Master the key words and sentence patterns.2. Try to understand the meanings of new words from the context.3. Improve students comprehensive skills.学情分析: 本课时是人教版八年级下册第四单元的Section B 2a-2d。本单元的语言目标是能询问,陈述自己或他人的困难和麻烦,并提出解决的办法和建议。Section B部分进一步拓宽了话题内容,不仅探讨了如何通过各种活动来减轻压力,还比较了东西方家长对子女教育的态度和做法。该部分的学习将有利于学生学会换位思考,帮助他们逐步建立正确积极的生活态度。 教学过程: Step 1 warming up 1.Greetings. 2.Lead-in Fist, the teacher shows a picture on the screen and let students to talk about it. Then play a game: Tell it like it is!(实话实说) Do you have any pressure in your life?How do you relax yourself?Enjoy some light music before reading!设计意图: 通过图片让学生更直观地看到课外补习班的压力,进而展开讨论,激发学生的浓厚兴趣,上课一开始就抓住学生的注意力,播放轻音乐让学生带着兴趣及对阅读的预知期待着阅读的展开。 Step 2 Reading 1.Skimming Reading strategy :Skimming(略读) This means looking quickly through an article to find the main idea without reading every word . It is a good idea to read the first sentence or the last sentence in each paragraph a little more carefully. Give students two questions before reading ,then ask some students to answer them after reading. (1)What is the common problem for Chinese and American families? (2)Who gives their opinions about the problems?Let students to find or summarize the main idea of each paragraph. 设计意图:让学生带着问题略读,通过快速浏览了解文章的大意,为下一步的阅读做好基础。2. Scanning (扫读): Guessing the Meaning When reading something for the first time, dont worry about words you do not know. Use the context(上下文)to help you guess the meaning. After reading , let the students close their books then judge T or F. (1) Chinese children have to take so many after-school classes on weekends these days. (2) Cathy Taylor really wants her three children to be successful, so she believes these after-school activities are important for them.(3) Linda Miller thinks parents should send their small kids to all kinds of classes. (4) Linda thinks some parents push their kids too much. (5) Alice thinks kids shouldnt have time to relax and think for themselves. 设计意图:让学生通过扫读,来猜测文中部分新单词的意思,并通过做判断题使其对文章的内容有一个更清晰的理解和把握。 3. Detailed -reading(精读) Read the passage and find the answers to these questions.(1)Does Cathy Taylor think its important for kids to join after-school activities? (2) Does Linda Miller agree with Cathy? Whats her opinion?(3) Does Dr. Green agree with Cathy or Linda? What does she say? Ask some students to answer the questions.设计意图:通过精读文章,让学生理清文章的脉络,并且能准确找出文中的一些主要人物的观点和看法,对文章的理解更深一层。4. Discussing (1)What do you think of after-school activities? (2)What should you do to relax?设计意图:通过讨论,不仅让学生对文章的理解更透彻,还让他们能够自由发挥,表达自己的观点和看法。 Step 3 After-reading Please complete the blanks.
