A Successful TeamSome people have probably already had a lot of experience working in groupsclass project teams, maybe an athletic team, a fund-raising committee, or even a sales team at work. Work teams are one of the realitiesand challengesof managing in todays dynamic global environment. Then, what is a formal and successful team?A formal team is a work group defined by the organizations structure that have designated work assignments and specific tasks. And a successful team is efficient and effective in making decisions and accompolishing tasks. According to the research, a formal and successful team has many characteristics, we can summarize as follows:Clear Goals Members of the team have a clear understanding of the goal and they are committed to it , know that what theyre expected to accomplish , and understand how they will work together to achieve these goal.Relevant SkillsTeams are composed of competent individuals who have the necessary technical and interpersonal skills to achieve the desired goals while working together. And menmbers have passions to learn new technologies continously for self-improvement.Mutual TrustMembers believe in each others ability, character, and integrity . Effective teams are characterized by high mutual trust among members. But maintaining this trust requires careful attention by managers.Good Communication Members convey messages, verbally, and nonverbally, among each other in ways that are readily and clearly understood. Also, feedback helps guide team members and correct misunderstandings. Negotiating Skills Effective teams are continually making adjustments as to who does what. this flexibility requires team members to posses negotiating skills. Appropriate Leadership By clarifying goals, demonstrating that change is possible by overcoming inertia , increasing the self-confidence of team members , and helping members to more fully realize their potential . Effective team leaders act as coaches and facilitators. Althought a successful team takes advantages over availability of organizational resources, the organizations performance management system and abilities of its individual menmbers and so on, it always faces some difficulties. First of all, the team may be shortage of some advanced and key technology and knowledge when facing some tought tasks which bring troubles and challenges to the team. So it is necessary for menmbers to learn new technologies continously for self-improvement. Secondly, the tasks is distributed among its menmbers unclearly and their responsiblities are ambiguous, which will decrease the teams efficiency and weaken their cooperation. For a successful and effective team, clear task distribution and responsibility is also necessaty. Thirdly, the team dont have a detailed and long-term plan for its development and alwanys pursue shotr-term goals, which will slow dowm the process of constant improvement and future development. Fourthly, the team have to solve different levels of conflicts when it perform its assigned tasks. Because diffferent people many have diffferent opinions and diffferent solutions to prombles, disagreements inevitably arise. Therefore, the team should take effort to analysis their facing conflicts and take relevant and necesssary measures. For functional conflicts,which are good to the team for supporting the goals of the team and improving its performance, team can take full advantage of them to lead to a positive effect on teams performance and help its members be more innovative by active discussions. While for dysfunctional conflicts, which are destructive and prevent the team from achieving its goals, team should take immediate measures to eliminate its negative effects and solve the conflicts in proper ways.At the same time, we should also consider the level of the conflicts, we show these situations with the follow diagram:And when the teams conflict levels are too high, managers can select from the five mangagement options, No matter how successful team in the process of cooperating would have problems,we now aiming at the other problems to discuss some effective solutions.First ,increase team development capabilities. Let all the members share all related business information (business secret except), and to ensure that team members fully understand these information; Strengthen the team found the problem and problem-solving skills; The overall increase team decision-making ability.Second ,grow in lessons.If the team has made the wrong decision, project manager with team members shall sit down and introspection wrong cause of the stress from the lessons, and what can be learned. Dont blame anyone or abuse of power, just tell the team the wrong decision to the negative effects, and let team learned in the institute of what measures can be used to and to ensure these error no longer occur. Third,avoid short-sighted.To ensure that all the team members to the organization, its target and its structure have a basic understanding of it. Team members if do not have the basic knowledge about team, natural difficult to realize a resolution with other team and the entire company will bring the potential impact. Team members accept the stronger the global view, they made decisions for the entire work consideration will be more, more can overcome myopia tendency. Fourth,make decisions immediately.In order to keep a certain competitive era, management agencies in decision-making and implementation decision-making plan must act decisively; Any delay would cause serious consequence. When decisions when stalled completely, we should put forward such a problem: today doesnt decide what the consequences? Or if we cant reach a decision today, things will develop into what kind? Normally, dont make any decisions more serious than the consequences of your actions. Fifth,solve resistant mood.The characteristics of technical personnel to the project, determines their supervisors request and guidance usually have resist or boycott mood, especially team development initial period. Project manager should understand this, overcome team against the mood is the best strategy to time and energy are concentrated in talking about how to achieve the project objectives. In this context, fully motivate the team members enthusiasm. Sixth,the emphasis of work and work ability.Project director may not be technical expert, so the work focuse
