Teaching aids: Bowls, plates, chopsticks, multimedia equipment. Teaching methods: Multimedia assisted method, role-play method, group-working method, listening and speaking method.Teaching procedures:Step 1. Greeting and revision Teacher and students greet each other. Then, teacher give the topic and learning period of this class. Present some exercise about last periods in Unit 10 and let several students to give their answers.Step 2. Lead-in Show the teaching goals of this period on PPT, ask Ss to read the goals together. Then, five students role-play their short play which they prepared before class. Others should observe and find the right and wrong manners in the short play. Next, let some students talk about their ideas about the right and wrong manners. Step 3. Presentation Show some pictures about the table manners in China by PPT, ask students to give right expressions about these pictures.Step 4. Part 1a Ask students to finish Part 1a individually, then let one student analysis the five sentences about different manners in different countries.Step 5. Expansion Show more pictures about different manners in other countries.Step 6. ListeningListen to the tape and number the pictures in the order Yang Ming talk about them in Part 1a. Then, check the answers as the class. Listen again, finish Part 1b and check the answers. Next, ask students to answer the questions.Step 7. Pair work Give students the useful expressions of this period, then let them work in pairs and make dialogs about other table manners in our country. Ask two pairs to perform their dialogs.Step 8. Extension Enjoy a video of table manners in China.Step 9. Exercise Show students some exercise about the main vocabulary and expressions of this period, let some students give answers.Step 10. Homework Write a letter to a friend about the table manners in China. Teaching reflection: The content of this period is about the table manners in China and all over the world, which is important and useful for students to learn different culture in different countries. They have great interest on the content, so they make lots of preparations before class. I think students performed very well in this class. However, I am a little nervous during the class, a part of the reason is that it was the first time I used the equipment. I hope Ill be better and calmer next time. English Curriculum Standard pay
