Turf and landscape needs should be identified during these tours and an appropriate action plan established. Budget dollars may need to be allocated for some of the needs. Therefore, it is important that you manage this portion of your responsibilities efficiently. Proper practices, procedures, and equipment must all be used to this end. Mowing equipment must be well maintained, blades must be kept sharp, proper mowing heights and mowing patterns must be used that produce the most efficient use of equipment and personnel.在校园管理当中最繁重，费用最高的部分一般都是草坪管护。因此，应当高效的管理你负责的部分。为此必须使用恰当的作法、程序、设备。割草设备必须得到良好的维护，刀刃必须保持锋利，必须使用妥善的割草高度和式样，使设备和人工达到最高的效率。Use of proper fertilizers and seed/turf varieties are absolutely critical to the ongoing improvement of turf areas. An effective turf program is based on soil test analysis. A soil test kit has been included in your start-up kit and should be used during the start-up period to establish a base for your fertilization program. Results from the soil test can then be used to formulate a site-specific fertilization program. Proper documentation of all supplies and materials used in a turf program are important. Soil tests should be taken before developing a program for any turf area. DO NOT ASSUME they will apply material evenly.2.Divide fertilization (and seeding) into halves and apply in two directions for even coverage.3.Aerate and slit seeding (where used) at 60 angles; this hides crisscross pattern.4.Measure the water percolation capacity of your soil; water two to three separate times to avoid watering at a higher rate than the soil can absorb.5.Excellent broadleaf weed control occurs after rain or irrigation.6.Do not collect clippings; you are returning nutrients to the soil.
