Unit 7 Work for PeaceLesson 42 Peace at Last 教材分析1. Analysis of the Students The students of Grade 9 have mastered certain vocabularies,expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of self-teaching and working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English.2. Analysis of Teaching ContentLesson 42 is the sixth lesson in Unit 7, Book 5.This unit focus on the subject Work for peace, Students cares about the subject because it is close to everyone. Lesson 42 mainly talks about how to give suggestions about solving fight problems between friends, and tell students to realize the necessity of getting along well with your friends. 教学目标【知识目标】1. To master the words: silence, silent, elder, directly.2. To master the phrases: keep silent, agreed on, mean to, after all.【能力目标】Improve the students ability of speaking, listening, reading and writing. To learn about how to give suggestions about solving fight problems.【情感目标】To realize the necessity of getting along well with your friends and the ways of solving problems.【教学重点】To master the words and phrases.【教学难点】To learn about how to give suggestions about solving fight problems. 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程Step 1. Warm-up1. Enjoy some pictures about friendship.2. Enjoy a video about friendship.3. Free talk: (1) Do you have good friend?(2) Can you introduce to us?Step 2. Presentation1. Explain the word peacemaker. (T: Do you know the meaning of peacemaker? As well as show the pictures.)2. Show the pictures of Danny and Li Ming. Ask students: What are they talking about.3. Read the lesson and write true (T) or false (F).(1) Danny was feeling bad last week.(2) Li Ming had a fight with Steven. (3) Many problems can be solved if friends talk about them. 4. Check the answers.5. Explain the language points:Did you ever have a fight with your friend? 你曾经跟你的朋友打过架吗?(1)表示动作或过程发生在说话之前某个没有明确说出的过去时间(常指最近的过去时间),现在已经完成了,并与现在的情况有联系,通常用现在完成时,但在美国英语中倾向于用一般过去时表示。(2) ever通常用于否定句、疑问句及表示条件的从句,意思是“曾经;从来;有时,在某时;在任何时候”。Have you ever been to China?你曾经去过中国吗?Nothing ever makes him mad.从来没有什么事情会使他疯狂。They play on the same football team. 他们在同一个足球队踢球。介词on在本句中的意思是“是的成员;在供职”。Liu Yu is on the football team of our school.刘宇是我们校足球队队员。My mother is on the primary school.我妈妈在人民日报社工作。Thanks to Jenny, everything is OK now.多亏詹妮,现在一切都好了。thanks to 幸亏;由于,因为Thanks to Sarahs English teacher, she passed the exam.多亏萨拉的英语老师,她通过了考试。thanks to 与 thanks for的区别thanks to “多亏;由于”,介词to 后面跟名词或代词作宾语,这个结构在句中用作状语,常位于句首。e.g. Thanks to our head teacher, we got out of the forest .多亏我们的向导,我们走出了森林。thanks for “因而感谢”,介词for 后面跟名词、代词或v.-ing形式作宾语。e.g. Thanks for helping me with my English.对于你帮助我学英语,我非常感谢。rather than “而不是”,它通常连接两个并列结构,如名词、v.-ing 形式、动词不定式(rather than 后的不定式中的to可省略)、介词短语等。e.g. She is a singer rather than an actress.她是一名歌手,而不是一个演员。The students were dancing rather than jumping.学生们正在跳舞而不是在跳。Well have the text in the classroom rather than in the hall.我们要在教室开会而不是在大厅开会。rather than 与prefer to 连用时,构成prefer to do .rather than do .,“ 宁愿做 而不愿做”。e.g. Id prefer to draw rather than write.我宁愿画画也不愿意写字。Step 3.
