Warming-up exercises:1.Having oral practice2.Reading 26 letters together(二). Revision:1.Reviewing new words in Unit 22.Reviewing sentence patterns in Unit 2(三). Presentation: 1.(Book closed) Teach the meaning of each verb by demonstrating the actions. Write a list on the board. 2.Point to and say a verb. Tell the pupils to do the appropriate actions. Say the verbs faster and faster to see if the pupils can respond. 3.Show Transparency. Play the tape and ask the pupils to repeat the words in the thought bubbles after the beeps. Do the with the vocabulary items.(四). Practice1.Listening to the tape and repeating one by one2.Practicing the words with their partner1. Practicing the sentences in Part A2. Presentation: 1. (Book closed) Ask a pupil to stand up. Point to yourself and do an action, e.g. jumping. Say I can jump. Write the word fly on the board. Note this verb is taught in Unit 7. Then spread your arms like wings and pretend to try to fly. Show you cant fly. Say I cant fly. Ask a pupil, Can you fly? When the pupils responds, say with him/ her No, I cant. Ask the same pupil Can you jump? When he or she jumps, say with him/her, say with him/her, Yes, I can.2.Ask other pupils to stand up. Ask them Can you? using the other verbs on this page. Get them to answer Yes, I can. /No, I cant.3.Making dialogue with their partner4.Making performances in roles(五). New words: start, show三.Teaching aids: story pictures, a tape-recorder, word cards, letter cards, stickers四Teaching procedure:(一). Warming-up exercises:1.Having oral practice2.Reading all the letters together(二). Revision:1.Reviewing the words of Part A2.Reviewing the patterns of Part B(三). Presentation:1. Point to the characters in the pictures and read their speech bubbles aloud. Ask the pupils to point to the speech bubbles as you read them.2. Play the tape for the pupils and ask them to say the sentences after the cassette.3. Ask the pupils to come up and play the roles of Miss Wang, Pat, Ann, John and Tim.4. Ask the pupils to role-play the story in groups of five and read the characters speech bubbles.5. You may use story cards to revise sequence and language of the story.(四). Practice1.Filling in the blanks with tick or cross2.Pointing and saying the poem 3.Listening to the tape and repeating (四). Assignment:1.Listening to the tape 2.Reading Part D&E3.Previewing Part FNotes: Pupils are able to use “can” asking and answering .The fifth Period 2009/3/18A. Contents: Part FB. Teaching Aims: 1) Teach Part F2) Do some exercises to practise the pupils listening and written skill.C. Main Points: Play a board game to practise talking about abilities.D. Difficult Points:1) Saying the sentences patterns correctly and fluently.2) Doing workbook exercises correctly.E. Teaching Aids: Pictures and a tape recorderF. Teaching Steps and Methods:1.Organization:1) Greeting2) Daily report2.Revision1) Show the letter cards and word cards and get the children to read aloud.2) Play a game. 3.Practice Teach Part F Look and do1) Find or make some dice. 2) Tell the pupils to make themselves a counter by sticking one of the stickers on a piece of card and cutting round it. Each person in the group should have a different sticker.3) Tell the pupils how to play the game, demonstrating with one group. Show them how to throw the dice and count the number of dots. Then demonstrate moving a counter along the game board for the same number of squares as dots on the dice.4) When the pupils land on a square they have to make a sentence to say whether or not they can do the activity shown on that square. If they make a correct sentence they can go ahead one square. If not, they have to move back one square. They do not have to make a sentence for this new square.5) The winner is the pupil to reach the end of the board where it says You win! The others may keep playing until they have all finished.Suggestion6) Note this game may be played many times. For example, when the more able pupils have finished their work more quickly than others they may like to play the game again.4.Consolidation: Get the children to complete Workbook exercises on page 13.1) Ask the pupils to look at the pictures and listen to the tape. 2) Ask the pupils to number the pictures according to the sequence of language they hear.3) Use the projector to show the answers to the exercises. Difficult Points:1) Saying the sentences patterns correctly and fluently.2) Doing workbook exercises correctly.E. Teaching Aids: Pictures and a tape recorderF. Teaching Steps and Methods:1.Organization:1) Greeting2) Warming up Activity game. 2.Revision Do the workbook exercises on P14.1) Ask the pupils to look at the first part of the page and listen to the tape. They need to colour the correct pictures according to the words with the sounds they hear.2) Ask the pupils to look at the second part of the page. Tell them to trace the letters in the model sentences for the
