课时作业(六)Section Learning about Language & Using Language. AChina successfully completed the countrys second space docking that linked the unmanned spacecraft Shenzhou again with the prototype(原型)space lab TiangongI,according to the missions control center.About half an hour before the redocking,Shenzhou had disengaged(摆脱)from Tiangongafter a 12day flight together.Shenzhou, launched on Nov.1 and docked with the target orbiter Tiangong on Nov.3 in an orbit 343 km above earth, marking Chinas first space docking a success.Tiangong has been in orbit since its launch on Sept.29.The Beijing Aerospace Control Center(BACC),which commanded the Shenzhou mission, called the redocking a success, during which functions of the measuring equipment and docking mechanism(机械装置)were tested in solar light.Following the redocking, the coupled spacecraft will fly together for two more days before the scheduled return of Shenzhou to earth,Wu Ping, spokeswoman for the manned space program, said earlier. The BACC said Monday that after the successful docking tests, the center will further modify the parameters(参数)of the orbit for Shenzhou to return based on data collected through close monitoring over the procedures.Prior to its return,Shenzhou will redisengage from Tiangong and fly alone for a period of time, instead of immediately returning to earth,Li Jian, deputy chief engineer of BACC said.“Acquisition of the space docking technology is vital to China for implementing(贯彻)the threephase development strategy of its manned space program,” spokeswoman Wu said.Another two docking missions with Tiangong have been planned next year, and at least one will be manned,Wu said.China plans to establish its own space lab around 2016 and a manned space station around 2020,she said.1From the first paragraph,we can learn that _.AChina will complete the second space dockingBShenzhou made a 12day flight together with TiangongCShenzhou docked with Tiangong on Nov.1DTiangong has been in orbit for 12 days by the time this news was published2The underlined word in the second paragraph probably means “_”Atask BbusinessCassignment Dflight3Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?AWu Ping is the deputy chief engineer of BACC.BShenzhou will redisengage from Tiangong previous to its return.CShenzhou will return to earth quickly after it redisengage from Tiangong.DBefore the second docking tests, the center will further modify the parameters.4In future,China will _.Aacquire the space docking technologyBplan another two unmanned docking missions with TiangongI next yearCplan to cofound the space lab around 2016 with othersDplan to establish its own manned space station around B项所述与第一段提到的“About half an hour before the redocking,Shenzhou had disengaged from Tiangong after a 12day flight together.” B项所述与文中第三段提到的“Prior to its return,Shenzhou will redisengage from Tiangong”相吻合。 根据末段的“China plans to establish its own space lab around 2016 and a manned space station around 2020”可知D项所述正确。BEver dreamed of having a robot servant who would do all the boring housework around the house?Well mechanized domestic staff have come one step closer, thanks to an android(机器人)being developed in Japan.Researchers at Tokyo Universitys JSK Robotics Laboratory have created a humanoid called Kojiro, who is learning how to copy how we walk. What makes him unique is that he has a skeletal(骨骼的)structure similar to that of humans, which means he moves in a more natural fashion, and bends and twists by his artificial spine(脊柱)The team, led by Professor Nakanishi, said this newly developed spine would allow them to manufacture lighter and more flexible robots in the future to serve in the home.In one scientific paper, they wrote:“Now normal humanoid robots are not suitable for working in our daily environment.” Lack of safety and versatility(多用途)is the main reason;their hard and heavy bodies can hurt humans or surrounding objects, and they can do limited tasks compared with what humans do in daily life.Traditional robots have limbs and torsos(躯干)powered by heavy motors at the joints. However in Kojiro, the motors are lightweight and used to pull cables attached to different locations on the body. This copies how our own muscles and tendons(腱)contract and relax when we move. The skillful system of around 100 such tendonmuscle structures work together to give Kojiro 60 degrees of freedom. The humanoid is also made mostly from light and flexible materials, which would make him less of a danger around the home. The researchers found the most difficult challenge was finding a way to make such a skillful robot walk.“The system has strong nonlinearity(非连续性)and is hard to model precisely. To control such a system,a kind of learning method is needed,”the team wrote. At present the scientists are testing Kojiros smaller movements using a games console controller. The team plan to slightly improve the computer algorithms(算法)that control the robots movements as they go and hope it will one day be able to handle complex movements using all of its limbs. Then perhaps one day,you will find Kojiro serving you breakfast in bed.5What is the text mainly about?AThe differences between the tradition robots and the humanoid.BIntroduction to a new type of humanoid.CHow to improve the traditional robot.DThe humanoid will be on market soon.6What makes the humanoid unique?AIts long limbs.BIts strong ability of copying.CIts materials.DIts skeletal structure.7Which of the following is NOT the reason why the humanoid cant be suitable for working in humans daily environment?ALack of safety. BFewer uses.CIts overweight. DDamaging objects.8What can we learn from the text?AScientists in Japan have solved the humanoids movement.BThe humanoid is used to take care of the old.CThe humanoid can use all of its limbs to handle complex movements.DItll be a long time before the humanoid is on market. Today Id like to tell you anything about riding a bike in London. If you visit London, youll see many buses, cars or bikes. Its very cheap and quick to use bike.If you take a bus,I often have to wait for an hour or so.Besides, the buses move very slowly. The underground is quickly but expensive and often crowded.I used to travel to work by bus.I was often late, and tiring. Then a friend suggested we went to work by bike.I followed him.Although we went slowly, but we always arrived on time.Taking a bus takes 50 minutes, while ride a bike only half an hour. Now I love riding to work and I feel more better. Jane was walking round the department store. She remembered how difficult 1._was to choose a suitable Christmas present for her father. She wished that he was as easy 2._(please)as her mother, who was always delighted with perfume.Besides, shopping at this time of the year was not 3._ pleasant experience:people stepped on your feet or 4._(push)you with their elbows(肘部),hurrying ahead to get to a bargain.Jane paused in front of a counter 5._ some attractive ties were on display.“They are real silk,” the assistant tried to attract her.“Worth double the price.”But Jane knew from past experience that her 6._(choose)of ties hardly ever pleased her father.Jane stopped where a small crowd of men had gathered. She found some good quality pipes 7._ sale. She did not hesitate for long:although her father smoked a pipe only once in a while, she knew that this was a present which was bound to please 8._.When Jane got home, with her small but wellchosen present in her bag,her parents were already 9._table having supper. Her mother was excited.“Your father has at last decided to stop smoking,” Jane 10._(inform)语篇解读:Jane为父亲选圣诞礼物时总是很难满足父亲。
