A photo of the students wearing the anti-cheating hats made its way to the Internet, and the university was criticized for making students wear those ridiculous looking homemade hats. The hats were made by stapling pieces of paper onto a headband, one to each side of the head. After being criticized, senior academic staff at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand, released a statement saying that the hats idea came from students. They said that in a bid to prevent cheating they asked the students for ideas on how to prevent cheating in the upcoming exam, which was being taken by almost one hundred students. Students came up with different ideas, then the paper hat idea was selected by them as the most suitable. The university claimed that no one was forced to use the hat, but they all chose to do so. “When wearing the hat during the exam, students felt more relaxed, ”Nattadon Rungruangkitkrai, a lecturer at the university said. “It was not meant to indicate that Kasetsart students often cheat on exams. I apologize if the photo makes other people look at my students in a negative way, ”Rungruangkitkrai added.【文章大意】很多人在一起考试对监考老师来说压力不小。近日, 泰国某大学就想出了防作弊帽的点子, 这样就不用担心学生偷看其他人的试卷了。此举引起了广泛的争议。1. Although his passing was very difficult for her, I think their shared struggle to make his life longer taught grandma that good health was not to be taken forgranted, and she made up her mind to live the rest of her own life as fully and as long as she could. One day, when she announced to attend lessons at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Portland, Oregon, where she lived, we rolled our eyes in embarrassment and helplessly wished she would just stay home and bake cookies as normal grandmothers did. Many years filled with countless dance lessons passed before we learned to appreciate the wonder of having a dancing grandma.I suppose grandmas primary motivation for wanting to learn to dance was social. She had been a shy girl, always very tall and heavy, and had married into grandpas quiet lifestyle before developing any elegance or confidence in her personal appearance. Dancing, on the other hand, filled her life with flash lights, wonderful parties, beautiful dresses, handsome young dance instructors, and the challenge of learning. Although the weekly dance lessons did not change her ample, two-hundred-pound figure, grandma surprised everyone with energetic performances on the dance floor, which soon gave her as much elegance and confidence as any Miss American competitor.Having taken weekly dance lessons for years, my grandma learned various dances easily and was soon participating in dancing matches all over the Northwest. When I was fourteen, grandma proudly invited me to watch her compete in one of these matches to be held in the grand ballroom of the Red Lion Inn. My attitude was still unenthusiastic at that point, but to make her happy, my mother and I attended the match. As if to prove me wrong, grandma made a wonderful showing in every event she entered. I thought she was truly the queen of the ball during the dance, and my thoughts were shared by the judges a short time later when she was awarded a gold cup for her outstanding performance.26. What did grandma learn from grandpas death?A. Good health was not there for everyone.B. She should take dance lessons.C. She had to struggle to live a better life.D. She should wear beautiful dresses.【答案】A【解析】细节理解题。根据good health was not to be taken forgranted,对于大家来说好的健康已经不在了,故选A。27. How did the authors family feel when Grandma decided to take dance lessons?A. Hopeless. B. Helpless. C. Embarrassed. D. Proud.【答案】C【解析】细节理解题。根据we rolled our eyes in embarrassment可知作者的家人都感到尴尬,故选C。28. Normal grandmas usually _ in the authors point of view?A. took dance lessonsB. did some exercises at homeC. took care of grandchildren at homeD. did some housework at home【答案】D【解析】细节理解题。根据she would just stay home and bake cookies as normal grandmothers did.在作者眼中祖母就是能在家做做家务,故选D。29. The author felt _ when he was invited to watch grandmas match.A. happy B. proud C. excited D. uninterested【答案】D【解析】细节理解题。根据My attitude was still unenthusiastic at that point,作者对于祖母的邀请他去看比赛感到没有兴趣,故选D。30.
