名词复数+that.”,“such+形容词+不可数名词+that.”中。在考例1和2中,that引导结果状语从句,long为副词,cold为形容词,因此只能用so。,而在考例3和4中,such用来修饰名词,根据句意可知这两处都需要引导结果状语从句的连词that,构成such.that.结构。注意:在这两种句型中出现单数可数名词,且该名词前有形容词修饰时,二者可以互换。如:Thisissogoodanidea/suchagoodideathatweallacceptit.,4.IvealwayshatedmakingmistakesorpronouncingawordincorrectlywhenIspeakEnglish,butMrsLijustsmiles,sothatyoudontfeelcompletelystupid!我总是不愿意犯错误或者在说英语时念错词。李老师只是笑笑,你就不会感到自己是个大笨蛋。,1)always强调“一直是这样”。另外,bealwaysdoing表示“老是,老”,多半表示责难。如:,Heisalwayscomplainingaboutsomething.他老是发牢骚。,Hewasalwaysaskingformoney.他老是要钱。,Whyareyoualwaysbitingyournails?你为什么老是咬指甲?,2)sothat在此处引导表示结果的状语从句,意为“因此,这样就”。如:,Sheisverycareful,sothatsheseldommakesamistake.她非常细心,因此她很少犯错。,Nothingmorewasheardfromhimsothatwebegantowonderifhewasdead.再也没有听到他的消息,因此我们怀疑他是否死了。,3)dontfeelcompletelystupid并不觉得自己是个大笨蛋,dont(否定词)和completely(表示“全部”概念的词)放在一起表示部分否定。又如:,Allisnotgoldthatglitters.=Notallthatglittersisgold.发光的并不都是金子。,Everybodywouldntlikeit.=Noteverybodywouldlikeit.并不是每个人都会喜欢它。,Hedoesntknoweverythingaboutit.=Heknowsnoteverythingaboutit.对此他并不完全了解情况。,5.Shesverystrictwedontdaretosayawordunlesssheasksusto.她非常严格,如果她不要求,我们连一句话也不敢说。,unless相当于ifnot,意为“要不是,除非”,这句话也可以说成:,Wedontdaretosayawordifshedoesntaskusto.,又如:,Myfathercomeshomebeforedinnereveryday,unlessthereissomethingurgenttodo.,=Myfathercomeshomebeforedinnereveryday,ifthereisnotanythingurgenttodo.,除非有急事,我父亲每天晚上都在晚餐前回家。,注意:unless不可用于指尚未发生的事情的结果,因而不可用于“假想的”条件句中。如:,Wewouldhavehadalovelyholidayifithadntrainedeveryday.要不是天天下雨的话,我们的假日就过得痛快了。,此句中的ifnot不可用unless来替换。,又如:,Illbesorryifhedoesntcometotheparty.万一他不来参加聚会,我就感到太遗憾了。,此句中的ifnot不可用unless来替换。,此外,unless还可用于引出补充前言的话,即是对刚说过的话想到要加些补充。如:,ShehasntgotanyhobbiesunlessyoucallwatchingTVahobby.她没有任何嗜好,除非把看电视也算作嗜好的话。,Haveacupofteaunlessyoudpreferacolddri
