Unit 10 What color is it?第六课教案1.Uncle Bookys storytimeStudent Book page 49 Tell the children to open their books at page 49. Draw their attention to the pictures. Explain that these pictures tell a story about a butterfly reading a book with her mother. Ask questions about the pictures. Have the children talk about the story and what they think each character is saying. Say, “Now we are going to listen to what the characters say.” Play the tape. Tell the children to listen to the story, pointing to the matching pictures. Tell the children to look at each speech bubble. Ask them to find out the words they know. Encourage them to guess the meanings of unfamiliar words. Play the tape of the whole story again. This time have the children touch the speaking character.2.Color gameUse this game to review the names of colors introduced in this unit (red, blue, green, pink, purple, gray, yellow, orange, brown, white and black). Explain to the children that you will call out the English names of different colors. After you call out each name, they must find something of that color in the classroom and touch it. (They may need to move around to do this.)3.Snap!This game reviews the vocabulary and letters introduced in Units 7 through 10. It is best played in pairs. Ask children to take out their small flashcards for Unit 7 to Unit 10. See Unit 1, page 24, for the rules and procedure. 4.Self-assessmentStudent Book page 49 In activity 1, tell the children to check the box if they can say the color of the picture. Point to the picture of tomatoes. Ask, “What color are they?” Elicit the correct answer from the children and have them check the box next to the picture. Put the children into pairs and finish the other pictures. Draw the childrens attention to the questions on the left in activity 2. Point to the picture of the car and read the question. Then elicit the correct answer from the children. Tell them to write the word on the line to complete the answer. Repeat the procedure to finish other questions. Now tell the children to look at the questions on the right. Tell them these questions ask about the colors of their own things. Have the children complete the answer. 5.My notes and teachers notesStudent Book page 49 Tell the children that it is the end of the unit and its time to check what they have learned and what they can do now. Ask them to assess themselves according to the statements listed. Explain that they can choose from the stars at the end of each statement. Three stars mean quite be able to, two stars stand for be able to and one star indicates be hardly able to. The teacher should evaluate the children positively according to the statements on the Teachers Notes. The purpose of having teacher make the assessment here is to provide positive response to their work, their attitude etc, therefore to he
