Mobile phone has increasingly become an indispensable part of peoples life along with the development of communication technology. Owning a cell phone is no longer a few peoples patents. Its not surprising for college students to have a mobile phone. The university campus has become market which Mobile sellers cant ignore. Developing an all-round understanding of the mobile phone market, especially for the consumer phone market capacity and structure, quality, price, brand, etc., plays a significant role in market share. So in this survey, we get our data through questionnaires and network investigation, and analyze the collected data, draw the conclusion and put forward some Suggestions finally.Introduction It creates a favorable condition for the popularization of mobile phones with the rapid economic development, peoples living standard enhancing, mobile technology continuing to mature, the lower cost of production of mobile phones. Students who study away from home with family need a communication tool. Mobile phones which are cheap and convenient become the first choice for students of electronic products. A study shows that chinas mobile phone users have achieve 565 million in total by February 2008.it cant deny that college students are of a considerable share. Mobile phone in contemporary college students generally is not surprising. So getting to know that college students choose which price of mobile phones, what kind of mobile phones and prefer what function and other basic situations is quite important.KeywordsMobile phone, market, analyze, adviceMain bodyThe Investigator: Kang Kaican,Li Qing,Jv Yongshu,Jin PingThe investigation place: The new southern campus of Shandong University.The investigation time: 13th week-14th week.The respondents: The students of the new southern campus of Shandong University.The mode of investigation:Questionnaires, network Investigation. (There are 107 questionnaires in total. All of them were replied, of which 100 valid questionnaires including 40 questionnaires and Network Investigation .the reply rate is 100%. )The objective of investigation:1. Develop an all-round understanding of cell phone cutting-edge technology.2. Comprehend the college students consumption concept on mobile phone.3. Know what college students mobile phone used for.4. Be acquainted with the main motive for the use of mobile.5. Recognize college students attitude toward mobiles value-added services6. Utilize the result statistics to promote marketing advice.7. Give some suggestions about how to use mobiles rationally.The content of investigation1、The design for the statistical planThis investigation use questionnaire survey and the specific arrangements are:A: confirm the theme and design a feasible questionnaire in one day.B: start the research and hold a discussion each day, the total time is two days.C: collate the data and draw up the Market research report in one day.D: amend the report and print it, the total time is three days.2、Acquisition of the statistical data During the three weeks, we acquired valuable information by our unremitting efforts. We found that the rate of mobile phone use reached 99% among the college students. Mobile phones have changed from a symbol of identity and status to a convenient communication tool and it was widely procured by the undergraduates. It is clear that the mobile phones have become an indispensable part in the life of college students and play their basic function of contact and convenience.3、Collating of the statistical data4、Analysis of the statistical data The survey mainly contain that the impact of brand, quality, price, function and appearance on the college students. Statistical analysis showed that: 1. In the above-mentioned factors, the phone quality is a major concern of consumers because the quality is the core of any product.2. College students is a consumer group who treat brand as a clue to infer product quality. In the market economy, competition is increasing; people have realized that the competition of goods is essentially brand competition. 3. In terms of price, in the case of the economic constraints, in the pursuit of practical, inexpensive, it is also the pursuit of fashion and individuality. 4. In appearance and function, emphasizing the personal, artistic design, and in addition to the basic functions of a full-featured, easy to use, and also have some additional features such as electronic dictionaries to the college life and study.The data analysisPhenomenon:From this chart we can clearly see that most students buy mobiles for phoning. 14% of the students main purpose are surfing the Internet and 12% are listening music. No one is playing games.Causal Analysis:The other functions can be replaced by other things. The mobiles main function is phoning and it is convenient.Solution Approaches:The manufacturers should make sure that the voice is clear when phoning.Phenomenon:The percentages of the respondents who use mobiles less than one hour and one to three hours are both 34%. Causal Analysis:Most respondents can control their time for mobiles.Solution Approaches:Some respondents should reduce their playing time.Phenomenon:More than half of the college students sometimes use the mobile phone to study.Causal Analysis:Students are not used to learning by mobile phones.Solution Approaches:Encourage students taking full advantage of the mobiles, especially in the English listening.Phenomenon:64% of the informants use the mobiles to visit the WAP site at least once a day, 20% visit at least once a week, 1% visit once a month and 15% never use mobiles to visit.Causal Analysis:Using mobiles to visit the WAP site is very convenient.Solution Approaches:The manufacturers should give their best to improve the speed to land the site. Phenomenon:From this chart we can clearly see that about 44 perfect of respondents hold the view that the advantages of mobile phone newspaper reported compared with the general newspaper is convenient. 36 percent think it is fast while others have the view on accurate information and nothing.Causal Analysis:Students have less time to read on newspaper than before, but they can read news by mobile phones that they can read in anywhere and anytime. They no longer buying newspaper or going to library to read.Solution: reading is an essential ability to us. So we should appeal student to come back to origin that read in newspaper afresh. Students always develop their interests in reading in newspaper instead of phones Phenomenon:From this chart we can clearly see that about 55 perfect of respondents choose to use mobile internet in break. As many people choose in class time and in bus. Others have no ideas. So we can say students wouldnt make use of the class time to play, enough there is still 10 perfect. As the same, most students think it is unacceptable or understandable to use phones in class, only 20 perfect have no ideas. Causal Analysis:Students choose to use mobile internet in break time is reasonable which would not have a bad effect on their studies. On the contrary, those who surf internet in class time should use the mobile phones rational. Studying is still important to themPhenomenon:From this chart we can clearly see that about half of the respondents would change their phones in 2 years later in general. Little of them would change in 1 year. Others prefer 1 to 2 years. In general, students would take care of phones. Causal Analysis:We can find several reasons that students change phones in 2 years. Nowadays, the mobiles were updated faster and faster and people always have high demands of the function. Others may consider their economical condition which would not support to change fast.11、The analysis about where does the cost of buying mobile phone come from.Phenomenon:Most of the students spend their parents money to buy mobile phone,A small fraction of them can buy mobile phone Depend on themselves.Causal Analysis:A large number of college students are not independent in economy. In some aspects, they need their parents help.Solution Approaches:12、the influence of mobile phone brand Phenomenon:About 24% of the respondents think its reasonable for us to pursue famous brand on mobiles. The others dont take care of the brand or think its unreasonable. Causal Analysis:The majority of college students focus on the quality of mobile phones rather than the mobile phone brand.Solution Approaches:13Phenomenon:from this chart we can clearly see that about half of respondents care the practicality of the mobile phones most when they buy the mobile phones.29% of the respondents chose the quality as the their most cared factor, and the students care about the price and brand:10% for each, only a few of them cares about the after service.Causal Analysis:Generally, most college like prefer the mobile phone with more function, such as QQ, Fetion and so on. And mobile phone price may be a little expensive for some students.Solution Approaches:The mobile phone sellers should pay attention to the practical applicability of the mobile phones and had better reduce the price at the same time.Phenomenon:Over half of the respondents prefer to buy the mobile phones in the specialty store. A small number of them would like to buy their mobile phones in the mall. Only a few of them will buy their mobile phone online. Causal Analysis:The mobile phone in the specialty store or the mall is guaranteed.Solution Approaches:As for the manufacturer, they should increase the distributor who sells their mobile in the specialty storeConclusion:The results of the survey can be summarized as follows:1. Purpose of buying phones Calling is still the primary purpose which students consider. They communicate with people in anywhere and anytime, but a considerable number of students choose to communicate with text messages. Others buy phones for the sake of playing games.2. Main factors to consider From the convey and consumer behavior, there are many factors would affect students buying mo
