Unit 8 Why dont you get her a scarf? Section B宁波市第十五中学实验校区 胡科宇一、 单元分析本单元围绕“Giving gift”开展听、说、读、写等一系列教学活动，主要是学习如何给别人买礼物及各种句型建议别人买礼物。本单元的核心语言项目是“Compare qualities”. SectionB 对不同宠物的观点，围绕着should 和 how about 等表示提建议的句式，逐步扩展。SectionB 边循环SectionA 中出现的语言目标，边介绍新词汇。然后，设计了两个听力活动，分别从两个层面，宏观到细节，帮助学生学习如何比较不同的动物。 具体而言：1a是词汇的拓展，引入宠物的词汇。1b对宠物进行相关描述，为后面的活动奠定基础。2a-2c围绕对不同宠物的评论进行了听力、口语训练；3a是一篇有关pets的阅读材料，要求学生了解宠物的优缺点，3b要求学生能够根据一幅宠物图片进行应用写作。3c 是一个开放性的写作练习，学生描述自己喜欢宠物，也是应用训练。4设计了小组活动，要求学生讨论家里养宠物的好处和坏处，这是使用目标语言表述个人观点，体现了语言的功能性。二、 学情分析 宠物话题，学生对此有一定的生活经验，有利于知识范围的延伸，在对话中，学生可以发散思维，表达他们已有的不同的生活经历。三、 教学目标1. 语言技能目标 能用英语来表达自己是否赞同养宠物，并说明原因，如：Thats too boring.进一步巩固运用如何比较；Help Ss learn how to make comments on pets. 2. 语言知识目标 Enable Ss to learn about some pets, and to make comments on them.3. 情感态度目标 要爱护、关心小动物, Animals are our friends,Love animals love ourselves!4. 文化意识目标5. 学习策略目标学会抓住文章的重点内容，通过跳读和细读寻找所需信息，把握文章的中心思想和主要脉络，提高语言综合能力。四、 重难点1. 教学重点(1)重点词汇：hamster,spider,turtle,mouse/mice, pig,rabbit,child/children,a 6-year-old child,an 80-year-old grandmother, trendy,pot-bellied,make sb sth,a lot of love, have time to do sth, avantage,disadvantage,all day.(2)重点句型：I think a dog is a good pet for 6-year-old child Dogs are too difficult to take care of.What are the advantages and disadvantages of keeping such a pet?However,life with a pig isnt always perfect.Now shes too big to sleep in the house,so I made her a special pig houseSometimes I dont have enough time to spend with her.(3)话题：Keeping pets2. 教学难点(1)正确运用tooto (2)掌握年龄定语、动词不定式作后置定语的用法 (3) Make comments on pets.五、 课时安排1课时六、 教学过程Step1: Warming up and presentationT: Good afternoon,class.
