10、!outside viewsebastienhi. im sebastien. im from germany. um, the idea of iq of ameasure of your brain power has been around for a while, butrecently theres been this new idea of the eq your emotionalquotient. and by now, its actually almost being regarded asmore important. if you look at it, busines

11、ses will well, theywill prefer employing people with great eq. well, of course, iqcannot be disregarded, but um, eq does have its importance aswell. uh, i believe that, um, i mean, people, most people willhave, um, their basic means of communicating with other people.most people are somewhat sociall

12、y adept, and just like mostpeople have, you know, a basic general knowledge. but then,what i think really is the difference betweeniq and eq, i mean, you can have a “brainiac”, and they will be great at most things they do, but if you just cant get along withhim, if you just cant communicate with hi

13、m, i mean, you know,hes not really that useful.kimhi. this is kim. im originally from korea, and i was raised incalifornia. and today, we are going to talk about the differencesbetween iq and eq iq meaning your intelligence, eqmeaning your emotions. now, in when i was, when i was alittle, little boy

14、 in korea, i h ad to take i think id taken liketwo or three iq tests before the age of ten, which is when imoved to california. so, i guess we stress a lot of importance onintelligence, on having great iq scores. but after i moved to thestates, i learnt how to associate with people, and along the li

15、nesthat this word eq came up, you know, emotional, caringabout its basically how you deal with people, howyou make people feel, and how people make you feel.i think theyre equally as, as important, but it see ms that in theeastern world they kind of stress on that a lot more back in thedays. but i t

18、ht be onto something with that,because your eq how you deal with people, how you interactwith people is important. now, a big part of this, in myopinion, is listening. i know im talking a lot right now, but ifyou want to get along well with people, you have to listen tothem, so just take a minute, m

19、aybe shut your mouth for a minute,and listen to others, and then you can understand andcommunicate with them in a better way. so, part of eq, i think,is listening listening to others and it can be more importantthan iq. listening inpassage1presenterwere fortunate to have as our guest today dr jenna

21、ect with their products. so for example, we often think ofblue as a cold colour, but it also makes you feel peaceful, quiet,and it doesnt suggest strong emotions. so its a favourite forbanks and insurance companies, who wish to suggest the imagethat they are trustworthy. and for selling products, it

22、s oftenused tosuggest something is pure and fresh.what about red?you can sell almo st anything with red. its a hot colour, whichsuggests a feeling of energy and even passion. it grabs yourattention, and can make people buy almost anything. you often see red on magazine covers. but if you use it too

23、much, it lookscheap and may make people tired. and orange has a similareffect to red, its upbeat and happy, it suggests pleasant feelingsand images. most people react well to orange, and its especiallypopular in advertising and on packaging for baked food.what about yellow, for instance?yellow is th

24、e colour of sunshine and its a positive, happy colour,so its used a lot in advertising. but its also often used forwarning signs, direction signs, and so on, where you have toread the message quickly and at a distance.what about less popular colours for advertising?surprisingly, green isnt used much

25、 in advertising except forgarden products. its friendly and restful. it can be cool andsoothing, the colour of apples and mint, but it can also be quitestrong and many people associate it with unpleasant ideas ofdecay or slimy creatures. but most colours are not primarycolours, theyre a combination.

26、 absolutely. so yellow -orange iscommon, and often used to give animpression of style and class,it looks like gold. but its not often used in letters because itsnot very strong. and yellow-green reminds people of feelingsick.blue-green works well as a cool colour, suggesting freshness, and is someti
