、 violins of Cremona. And there are not very many of the old violins 20 . 1.A.better thanB.worse. thanC.more thanD.rather than答案:A要解答此题需要联系上一句These violins sound better than anyothers(这些小提琴听起来音质要比别的小提琴好。) 2.A.equipmentB.devicesC.instrumentsD.facilities答案:Cinstrum
3.A.YetB.HenceC.ThusD.Besides答案:A通过上下文可以发现,此处应该选一个表示转折关系的连词。 4.A.whyB.howC.whereD.in that答
how、where及in that在语法及意义上都是错误的。5.A.soB.whateverC.whereasD.however答案:C联系上文“No one really knows”,“many people think they have an answer”及下段“Some people think”和再下一段“Other people think that”可以发现此处缺一个转折关系的连词。
6.A.strangeB.peculiarC.specialD.odd答案:C联系上段最后一句“No one really knows why these old Italian violins are so special”可以找出答案。 7.A.mysteryB.successC.characteristicD.secret答案:Dsecret此处表示“奥秘”,文中的意思为“另一些人认为古琴音质好的奥秘在于制作它们的木头”。
8.A.can beB.may beC.must not beD.may not be答案:C联系前文The wood of the violins is very important”可以发现此处应该为否定的,所以排除A、B。must not be表示“不可以”,具有强制性,规定性。may not be表示“可能不”,与题意不符。9.A.somethingB.anythingC.nothingD.some thing答案:Aanything太绝对,nothing与该段的论述相反:若他们不了
10.A.tooB.soC.veryD.much答案:Btoo一般不用于否定句中,much一般不用来直接修饰形容词。 11.A.HereB.TheyC.ItD.That答案:C从这整个句子来看,此处缺一个形式主语来代替真正的主语to cut the wood in a special way。Here与They及T
