20、in Students Book 1, and the topic is My New Teachers. The second part of this module"Reading" introduces three teachers Mrs. Li, Mrs. Chen and Mr. Wu. Through fast reading and careful reading, students will get more information about the three teachers, and gain the general idea of how to
21、describe a teacher. In this part, the concept of people-oriented was adhered to cultivate the students' comprehensive ability. So, it plays an important role in the whole module.II. Teaching ObjectivesThe overall objectives described in the new English curriculum indicate a change in the underst
22、anding of the nature of the English educationa change from purely linguistic to an emphasis on language skills, knowledge, affects, strategies, and culture awareness in order to prepare the students for laying a good foundation for continuing development. Thus the teaching objectives should be relat
23、ed to the following factors:1. Language ObjectivesIn this module, students are going to describe a teacher, which requires them to know some adjectives. Thus, students need to know the following important words and phrases.amusing, energetic, funny, intelligent, kind, lively, nervous, fat, so that,
24、dare to, do well in, make progress.2. Ability ObjectivesWe know that adjectives are used widely in our daily life. And students feel especially interested in its using. After they learn this module, they should learn how to describe their teachers personalities. Thus teachers should put the language
25、 objectives as follows:(1) Describe their teachers personalities properly.(2) Get useful information from the text after learning.3. Moral Objectives Know the good qualities of a teacher.III. Important Points and Difficult PointsImportant points are not always difficult points. Generally speaking, i
26、mportant points are language input, while difficult points are language output. Therefore, teachers should pay attention to both language input and language output. Whats more, according to the differences among students learning condition, the standard of knowledge, interest and other individual fa
27、ctors, the important points and the difficult points are as follows:1. 28、.IV. Teaching Methods1. Task-based Language Teaching and Communicative Language Teaching are used as teaching methods.The ultimate goal of foreign language teaching is to enable students to use the foreign language in work or life when necessary. The goal of Communicative Language Teaching is to dev
29、elop students communicative competence. It is the teacher's very role to stimulate the students' interests and make them take an active part in the class.Task-basked Language Teaching is, in fact, a further development of Communicative Language Teaching. It shares the same beliefs, as langua
30、ge should be learned as close as possible to how it is used in real life. Besides, students will be required to do some group work, which can give them more opportunities to speak out. That is the reason why Communicative Approach and Task-Based Language Teaching are employed in this class.2. Teachi
31、ng aids: blackboard and multimedia.V. Learning MethodsAlthough it is useful for a teacher to know what is going to teach or do in the class, it's more important for a teacher to know what his/her students are able to achieve by the end of the lesson. But many students are lack of knowledge and t
32、he courage to express their ideas. Therefore, a successful leader should recommend some good learning methods to them. In this lesson, the following learning strategies will be recommended to the students:1. Communicative strategyInstead of learning by themselves, students prefer working in groups.
33、If working in groups, they have more courage to speak out their ideas, feelings and opinions, which can help improve their ability in speaking.2. Resource strategyStudents can find the key information through the teachers tasks. They can find the useful resources independently. At this class, the te
34、acher will give the students a table to finish, and then the students could have a clear understanding about the text.VI. Teaching Procedures Step I Greetings (1 min)Greet the whole class as usual. This aims to concentrate the students attention.Step II Lead-in (7 mins)1. Look at some pictures relat
35、ed to new school. (2 mins)2. Answer four questions about school and teachers.(4 mins)New English curriculum specifies that the students are real masters in the learning of English. In a lesson, they are English learners and real masters. So a teacher should act as a guide, an organizer and a directo
36、r who respectively plays a role when necessary in the teaching procedure.As we all know, the most useful method to lead the students to learn is interest. So, at the beginning of the lesson, students will be allowed to look at some pictures which may catch their attention and make them enter the lea
37、rning quickly. What more, by doing this, it can motivate students, activate their prior knowledge. The pictures present new school. Through pictures, students can memorize the new words related to school easily. After having a general understanding, the teacher will ask four questions to the student
38、s and lead to find answers. Students interest is stimulated again. They are likely in higher spirit. Then students will proceed to know more about the three teachers Mrs. Li, Mrs. Chen, Mr. Wu. So the lead-in step includes: 1. Look at some pictures which related to school. 2. Answer four questions a
39、bout school and teachers. Step III While-reading (30 mins)While-reading is the most important part and the teacher will spend 30 minutes on it. Here come two sections in this part. 1. Fast Reading (8 mins)(1) Predicting and guessing.Ask students open the book to look at three pictures first, and try
40、 to guess what the three teachers are like.(2) Scanning.Students are asked to answer the comprehensive questions. By doing this, students can scanning the text for specific information. Besides, students would have further understanding of the passage and they would be more curious about the three t
41、eachers.2. Careful Reading (12 mins)Blank-filling.Using a blank is a good way to help students to summarize the information by comparison. Students are asked to fill in each teachers name, subject, character and students opinion. This activity is based on students cognitive ability. By doing this, s
42、tudents can have a deeper understanding of the details of the passage and learn how to describe someone.3. Exercises (10 mins) After careful reading, the students will be required to finish the activity 2 and 3 on page 13. By doing this, the students not only review what they have learned but also meet more words and phrases, which
