1、國際商務學系二年級B班葉真妙(9225036A)遊學之心得 這是我第一次出國的經驗。當我得知我考上學海得以出國時,我感到欣喜若狂。在我出國前,學校為了我們舉行了三次的說明會。在第一次的說明會中,錄取的七十五位學生將決定是要去英國或是澳洲。我抽中了前往阿德雷德大學之遊學團。阿德雷德是南澳的首都。前往阿德雷德的計劃也是學校第一次舉辦的。以往學校舉辦過前往昆士蘭大學,但現在學校有計劃將分成兩團遊學團前往澳洲。一團將至昆士蘭大學,另一團將至阿得雷德大學。扺達阿德雷德 我搭了一趟十分漫長的航程。對我來說,它是一個既新奇又疲累的搭乘經驗。當飛機準備起飛時,我感到十分緊張。在搭乘的途中,我有小小的耳鳴症狀。

2、幸運的是,我不曾有暈機的狀況。我可以在空中俯視地景,那就像是小型的模型。當我在機上睡覺時,我感到非常的不舒服。因為它的空間實在太小了(無法全身性伸展),我無法在機上睡得安穩。 當我雙腳踏入阿德雷德機場時,我看到很多人舉著掛有名字的牌子並且從人群中尋找著某人。然後我看到了我的名字在一人的牌子上。她是我的host mother,一位十分親切的婦人。當她第一次看到我時,她給了我一個大大的擁抱。當我踏出機場時,我感到非常的嚴冷。當地正值冬季中旬,而且到達當地不久前才下過了一場雨。我的host mother開著車帶著我在回家的途中四處逛逛並介紹各個地標。隔天,我的host mother帶我去那位於語言學

3、習中心正對面的Scots Church。那正舉辦著下午茶會。而且我們在那遇見其他的寄宿家庭。我們也遇見將在這短期的時間教導我們的老師,他們都是優秀且熱切的老師。我開始期待生活在阿德雷德這一個月的期間了。關於寄宿家庭的生活及寄宿家庭的成員 我寄宿的家位於Aberfoyle Park,一個在市中心外的郊區。每天我必須搭公車到語言學習中心上課。搭公車去語言學習中心需花費四十分鐘(一般來說)。假如在前往學校的途中遇到了塞車,那就得花費大約一小時的時間乘坐公車。 我的host mother,Bev,她是一位熱衷於園藝的婦人。她擁有一個漂亮的花園。她也十分喜愛做手工藝品。在晚餐後她總是在編織毛線。她喜歡看

4、板球賽卻十分厭惡美式足球賽,因為她認為美式足球過於粗魯。Bev有一位住在安養院高齡九十七歲的媽媽。Bev曾帶我去拜訪過她,她是一位健朗的老婦人。Bev只有一位兒子,一位又高又壯的青年。他並不和他媽媽一起住。我曾遇過他一次,還一起吃過一頓豐盛的晚餐。 在寄宿家庭中,我擁有一間個人的房間。在這沒有任何的家規,所以我可以很自由地做任何一件事。Bev每天都會為我準備三餐。早上我總是吃著喜瑞爾和一片烤土司而午餐則是吃著三明治。在三餐之中,晚餐總是最好最豐富的。我時常幫Bev擺放好餐具以及清洗碗盤、餐具。有時Bev和我會一起看電視在我們用完晚餐後。關於課程 我們有一個以閱讀、文法、寫作為題的小測驗在上學的

5、第一天。它是一個分班測驗,所有的二十二位台籍和韓籍的學生將被分成兩小班來上課。我被分在第二小組。在這四週期間,我們早上有三小時的英文課。我的班級老師,Lyn,是一位優秀且熱切的老師。我喜歡她的教學方式。她的教學原則強調著如何正確的發音。我們總是藉著遊戲或活動來學會字彙且文法,它是有趣而且對我有用的學習方式。當我對一個新字不懂其意時,她會以一些簡易的文字或肢體語言來表達其意。她想要所有的學生都能主動地發問以及盡我們可能以英文來表達我們的意思。她真是一位教學認真的老師。 遊學期間語言學習中心會安排一些戶外活動,利用午後的時光帶我們悠遊阿德雷德這個城市。 市區的遊覽一位中國的導遊,也是阿德雷德大學的

6、學生。他帶領我們搭乘市區僅有的免費公車遊覽城市。 參訪校園兩位就讀於阿德雷德大學的學生帶領我們走遍校園任一處。校園的基礎建設十分健全。我十分喜愛在這美麗的校園內學習。 Norwood保齡球館我們有兩個小時的時間可以打保齡球。我們分成四小組,每一組有六個成員。這是我第一次打保齡球,因為我從未打過保齡球,所以我不知道如何正確持球。對我來說,它是不容易的。我打完這場賽後,我得到非常低的分數。 參訪阿得雷德中央市場市場充斥著熱鬧的氣氛並以小攤販、小商店及咖啡館等買賣活動來展現當地最好的產物。在這充滿活力的市場中可以購買到海鮮、蔬果、麵包、酥皮點心及蛋糕。 Tandanya文化中心Tandanya是一個

7、展列著原住民手工藝品及繪畫的獨特地方。因現場有位原住民解說使我得以瞭解澳洲原住民的文化。然後我們去觀賞原住民表演秀。表演者穿著他的原住民服飾,配合他的舞蹈唱著他的原住民歌曲。他是一位熱情的人,也是一位盡職的表演者。 Cleland野生動物公園它為遊客提供了一個機會可以漫遊在野生生物之中,面對面地接觸澳洲獨特的鳥類、動物以及爬蟲類。我得以親近無尾熊並和它拍照在Koala Close-up區,我發現它是一位專業的模特兒。每當某人想與它一起合影時,它便會馬上停止用餐面對鏡頭擺出他最可愛的姿勢。之後,我還親身餵食袋鼠,對我而言,那真是一個特別又刺激的經驗。 National Wine中心它陳列並推銷超

8、過一萬種不同的澳洲紅酒且發現了超過六十個製酒區。我在此得知了何處有製酒區(全澳洲),如何製酒,如何品嘗美酒。但假如我想要品嘗酒,我必須付五塊澳幣。嘗酒並不是免費的,我很失望不能嘗到免費的紅酒。 南澳藝術畫廊它將澳洲最優、最古老的藝術品放置在阿德雷德最漂亮、具歷史性的建築物之一內。所有的藝術品按照地域性分成三類主要的收藏區:歐洲區、澳洲區、亞洲區。 南澳博物館這裡有許多原住民的工藝品以及許多其他特別的展覽。其中在一樓的一個展覽場地裡,擺放著許多世界上的哺乳類動物的標本,而裡面有個非常有趣的標本。它是一具雄獅子的標本。當你凝視著獅子標本一會兒,它便搖擺著它的尾巴。 Haighs巧克力工廠它是一間以

9、澳洲最古老的世家所擁有的巧克力製造商,在1915年由Alfred Haigh所建立的。在那販賣著最好、最頂級的巧克力,因此價位也是全澳洲最高的。我們一週有幾次的“Free Afternoon”或“Individual Project Work”。我們可以自行決定去某地參訪。週末之旅 Bev總是會在週末期間帶我出去郊遊。第一週週末(星期六)參訪Mount Lofty Summit 以及 HahndorfMount Lofty的海岸線位於海跋七百一十公尺。當我站在那,我可以看到阿德雷德至海岸的全景。Bev對我說:假如天氣好的話,我們甚至可以看到袋鼠島呢!俯視著阿德雷德的景色是十分漂亮的。Mount

10、 Lofty是一個極優的景點,任何的旅客都不能錯過它。Hahndorf是澳洲最古老、原始的德國移民地。這個古老的德國村莊在1893年因東德人為脫離宗教迫害而定居於此。我們享受在這裡的所有一切,從美好的德式烹調和飲品到典雅的小商店,全都建立在有著一長排老樹的古道上。第一週週末(星期日)參訪阿得雷德海港阿得雷德港的商業全盛時期在一八八年代,從它的許多美好而古老的大廈、船具商、倉庫與旅舍可看出其繁盛榮景。Bev帶我乘船去看海豚。由於我們所要搭的船在下午兩點才啟航,所以我們便先去參觀漁夫的碼頭市場。這個市場安置在以一九四年代擁有佔地五千平方公尺的貨物棚子,裡面有許多的小攤販。當我們乘船出海後,碧藍的海

11、水溢滿我的視線真是美不勝收。在航行的期間,更有許多的海鳥和海鷗相伴。甚至還有些人以小船或快艇在海面上行駛。途中我看見海豚三次,而每一次它們浮出海面的時間都非常短暫,因此我總是無法抓準時機拍下最優美的它們。一路上陽光 十分強烈而海風卻 非常的冷冽,讓我無法很舒適的享受這趟航程。但它卻是我最感特別的經驗。第二週週末(星期六)參訪Noarlunga 海港以及Christies海攤我在防波堤上看到許多人正在釣魚。我們發現了一小群的海獅游水並浮現在海面上。那海攤的景真是十分的漂亮。我享受在長長的防波堤上漫步。第三週週末(星期六)參訪McLaren谷首先,我們到了Middlebrook莊園。它是一間釀酒廠

12、中心。以塔斯卡尼式的庭院及圓形建築來建構它的葡萄園。在那我品嘗了兩種不同的紅酒。再來,我們來到Willunga。它是南澳最古老的移民地之一,有著十九世紀鄉村的氣氛。我在一家Willunga古董店發現了一架一九三年代的古董電話機。在那一家小店面裡有許多的古董。最後,我們到了一家Medlow Confectionery and FruChocs Showcase。在裡面有幾部製造、包裝糖果和巧克力的機器展示著。只要一按附在牆上的按鈕後,便可以看到機器的運轉過程。第三週週末(星期日)參訪Bombay Bicycle Club當我一進入這個俱樂部,我便看到兩大幅浮雕畫。我沈浸在這充滿印度風裝橫的氣氛中

13、。它提供了免費的咖啡給訪客品飲。它是一個獨特的俱樂部。最後一天 今天我們必須向在阿得雷德的每一位我所認識的朋友道別。語言學習中心為我們舉行了一個慶祝會。他們頒發了一張學習完成證明狀。我得到了一個不錯的成績以及印有“阿得雷德大學”字樣的紀念杯。在阿得雷德這段期間,日子過的豐富而多采多姿。我將會十分想念在阿得雷德的每一件事。 在這次的旅行中,我學到很多,也得到很多特別的經歷。我非常感謝在阿得雷德的每一位幫助過我的人。在阿得雷德的這段日子裡我真的感到非常的愉快。阿得雷德是一個又好又漂亮的城市。在那每一件事都是十分便利的。我很高興我有這個機會參加這次的海外遊學並漫遊在充滿外國情調的阿得雷德。此外,我也

14、真誠地感謝義守大學。提供了這個獎學金制度,讓我有此機會拓展我的國際視野以及體驗不同的文化和風俗,透過這次旅程建立我的國際觀,期許自己持續學習、增進英文能力。葉真妙英文報告International Business The Second-year Class BYeh Chen-miao(9225036A)English Language and Cultural Study What I Had Learned This is my first abroad experience. When I knew I got a chance to go abroad, I felt very ha

15、ppy and pleased. Before I went to abroad, School had held conferences three times. At the first conference, seventy-five students would assign to go England or Australia. Then I drew to go Adelaide. Adelaide is the capital city of South Australia. The plan to go Adelaide is also the first time for S

16、chool. Formerly School held to go Queensland, but now School has a plan to divide into two groups to go Australia. One is going to Queensland, and the other is going to Adelaide.Arrived Adelaide I flew a long-range flight. It was a novel and tiring plane-taking experience for me. I was nervous when

17、the plane was ready to take off. On the way I had a little tinnitus. Fortunately, I wasnt airsick. I could look down at the view of the city. It looked like a model. When I slept on the plane, I felt uncomfortable. Because the space was too small, I cant sleep well on the plane. When I stepped into

18、the Adelaide airport, I saw many people lifting up name cards and looking for someone. Then I saw my name on someones card. She is my host mother who is a kindly woman. She gave me a hug when she met me first. I felt very cold when I went out the airport. It was mid-winter there, and there had been

19、raining for a short while ago. My host mother drove me around and introduced somewhere to me on the way home. Next day, my host mother took me to Scots Church which is opposite the English Language Centre. There was an afternoon tea. And we met other host families there. We also met our teachers who

20、 are very nice and friendly. I was looking forward to stay in Adelaide about one month.About living in host home and my host family My host home which locates in Aberfoyle Park which is in the suburb of the city. Everyday I have to take the bus to the English Language Centre. It spent forty minutes

21、taking the bus to the English Language Centre. If there was a traffic jam on the way to school, it would spend about one hour going to the English Language Centre. My host mother, Bev, who is a keen gardener. She has a nice garden. She also enjoys craft work. She often does knitting after eating din

22、ner. She likes watching cricket ball games. She dislikes the football because she considers that it is too rough. Bev has an elderly Mother who is a ninety-seven years old resides in a caring home. She had taken me to visit her mother. The elderly Mother looks healthily. Bev just has a son who is st

23、rong and tall man. He doesnt live with her. I had met him at a time. We had had a dinner together. I had a single room in host home. There isnt any homestay rule so I am free to doing everything. Bev prepares three meals for me every day. I always had some cereal and toast in the morning and ate san

24、dwich for my lunch. Among three meals, the dinner was great and lush. I often helped Bev to set the table and do the dishes. Sometimes Bev and I watched TV together after we finished dinner.About Courses We have a small test about reading, grammar and writing. It is a placement test. All twenty-two

25、students from Taiwan and Korea were divided into two small groups. I was provided placement for group 2. During the four weeks, we had three hours English class in the morning. My classroom teacher, Lyn, who is a nice and friendly teacher. I like her teaching method. Her principles of teaching empha

26、sizes how the pronunciation correctly. We often learned vocabulary and grammars by games or activities. It was fun and useful for me. When I didnt know the meaning of a new word, she would express by some easy words or her body language. She would like to see all students asking any questions volunt

27、arily and expressing in English as best we can. She is an excellent teacher. We had some activities in the afternoon which were arranged that we should tour and visit by the English Language Centre. The introduction of activities as follows: Orientation and City Tour-a Chinese guide who is a Univers

28、ity of Adelaide student led us to take the free bus around the city. Visit Campus two University of Adelaide students led us to walk around the campus. There has been considerable capital investment. I enjoyed studying the beautiful campus. Norwood Bowlwe had two hours to bowl. We divided into four

29、groups and each group had six people. It was my first time to bowl. I had never bowled, so I didnt know how to hold the bowl. It was difficult for me. After I finished the game, I got a very poor score. Visit Adelaide Central Marketa market buzzing with atmosphere and activity with stalls, shops and

30、 cafes showing off the finest in local produce. Seafood, fruit and vegetables, breads, pastries and cakes can be purchased in this vibrant market. Tandanya Cultural CentreTandanya is a unique place to show the aboriginal crafts and paintings. I understood about the Australian aboriginal culture by a

31、n aborigine explained. Then we went to watch the aboriginal show. He wore his aboriginal clothes and sang his aboriginal songs with his dancing. He is an enthusiastic man. He is also a good performer. Cleland Wildlife Parkit offers visitors the opportunity to roam freely amongst wildlife, coming fac

32、e to face with some of Australias unusual birds, animals and reptiles. I got close to a koala and had a picture taken in the Koala Close-up Section. I found it was a professional model. When someone wanted to take a picture with it, it would stop eating. And then I tried to feed kangaroo. It was an

33、exciting experience for me. National Wine Centreit showcases and promotes awareness of more then 10,000 different Australian wines and more than 60 wine regions. I know where the wine region is, how to make wine, and how to taste wine there. But if I want to taste wine, I have to pay five dollars. T

34、he tasting is not free. I was very disappointed that I couldnt taste free wine. Art Gallery of South Australiait holds one of Australias finest and oldest art collections housed in one of Adelaides most beautiful historic buildings. There has been divided geographically into three main collecting ar

35、eas: European, Australian and Asian. South Australian Museumthere are many Aboriginal artifacts and lots of other special exhibits. I found an exhibition on the ground floor. There are many world mammals specimens. And I saw an interesting specimen. It was a lion one. When I stared at the lion a lit

36、tle while, it wagged its tail. Haighs Chocolate Factoryit is Australias oldest family owned manufacturer of chocolate and was founded in 1915 by Alfred Haigh. There are selling nice and top grade chocolates. Therefore, the price is the highest in Australia.We had “Free Afternoon” or “Individual Proj

37、ect Work” several times a week. We could decide to go somewhere by ourselves.Trips Bev took me to have an outing on weekends.The first of weekend (Saturday)trip to Mount Lofty Summit & HahndorfMount Loftys coastline from 710 meters above sea level. While I stood here, I could see the panoramic v

38、iews over Adelaide to the coast. Bev said “if the weather is good, we can see Kangaroo Island.” The views were very beautiful. Mount Lofty is a good place. No visitor should miss it.Hahndorf is Australias oldest original German settlement. The historic German village of Hahndorf was first settled in

39、 1839 by East German migrants escaping religious persecution. We enjoyed all that Hahndorf has to offer, from fine German cuisine and beverages to quaint and delightful little stores, situated along the century-old tree-lined streets.The first of weekend (Sunday)trip to Port AdelaidePort Adelaides c

40、ommercial heyday was in the 1880s which accounts for its many fine old buildings, ships chandlers, warehouses and pubs. We would get on the ship to see dolphins. Owing to the fact that our ship wouldnt sail until 2:00pm, we had free time to visit the Fishermens Wharf Market. The market housed in a 5

41、000 square meter 1940s Cargo Shed. There were many stalls inside.As I got on the ship, I saw a beautiful seascape. During the sail, I saw many sea gulls and seafowls. Some people sailed boats or speedboats. I saw dolphins just three times. They appeared at sea level for a short time, so I couldnt ta

42、ke any pictures of them. I was glad to see dolphins, but I couldnt stand staying on the ship. The sunlight was strong and the sew wind was cold.I didnt enjoy the sailing. It was a unique experience.The second of weekend (Saturday)trip to Prot Noarlunga & Christies BeachI saw many people going fi

43、shing on the jetty. We found some sealions swimming and appearing in the sea. The view of beach was very beautiful. I enjoyed wandering on the jetty. The third of weekend (Saturday)trip to McLaren ValeFirst, we went to the Middlebrook Estate. It is a winery and function centre. There are the Tuscan style Courtyard and Rotunda framed by its own vineyard. I tasted two kinds of red wine there. Next, we went to Willunga. It was the 19th century country atmosphere of one of South Australias oldest settlements. I found an antique which was a 1930s phone in Willunga Antiques. There are
