1、Textbook Analysis Longman Welcome to English applies the concepts of modules, units and tasks throughout the course. Each module contains several units which are
2、thematically or conceptually related. These themes and concepts are explored through different tasks in the stages. The tasks are further developed into extended tasks and pro
3、jects. Below is an example illustrating how units and tasks are developed and organized under the module “Fun and Games” in Key Stage 1.Such a framework enables pupi
4、ls to learn in purposeful and authentic situations and to build on the knowledge and skills learn and to use the products from one task in the next one. Th
5、is helps pupils to gain in confidence as they can more easily see their progression towards the learning targets, as well as to develop the generic skills, positive&
6、#160;values and attitudes conductive to independent, lifelong learning.The above summarizes the design of the curriculum for the General English programme while suggestions for the
7、;Reading Working under the same module can be found in the Teachers Guide folder. A list of reading materials for different themes and text types together with activ
8、ities based on the materials are provided. Teachers can adapt these reading materials flexibly to boost pupils interests and reading skills, and facilitate the development of&
9、#160;a “reading to learn” culture.Analysis of StudentsThe teaching materials are prepared for the second grade student in primary school. These students already have
10、;the basis of learning English and they have a strong curiosity to English and enthusiasm for learning.The children at this age like to play . They concentrate on t
11、hings for a very short time. Teachers should design a lively and diverse form of activities to attract the attention of children in the class. The level of und
