3、able the students to ask and answer about the price fluently.【Teaching method】The main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to cultivate students abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly us
4、e task-based teaching method and communicative teaching method. With tasks, the students take part in all kinds of activities and they solve the problems.【Teaching procedures】Step I Lead inAt the beginning of the class, I will show some beautiful pictures on the screen and review the words. Th
5、en Ill show the words singular form and then let the Ss say the plural form.For example: Whats this ? Whatre these?What color is it? What color are they?In this part, beautiful pictures can help them to remind the words. It can also help the students prepare for learning the new sentences “How much
6、is/ How much are?”Step II Presentation1. let them watch a cartoon about shopping.This part can warm up the class atmosphere and make it lively.It can also make the students feel interested in this class.2.Showing the beautiful clothing pictures and presentate the sentence pattern: Whats this?
7、 What color is it? How much is it? Whatre these? What color are they ? How much are they? Then practice in pairsand work in groups.According to pairwork and groupwork, let the students be able to use the sentences fluently.3. Listening challengeActivity 1b: Ask the students to listen, and circl
8、e the things they hear.Activity 2a: Listen to the conversations and circle the things they hear.Activity 2b: Listen and fill in the price tags.Activity 3a: Listen and fill in the blanks and then imitate the conversations.We cant neglect listening part as it is a very important skill. Ask the student
9、s to imitate the pronounciation and intonation. Because imitation is a good way to learn English well.4.Playing a guessing gameGame One: Ask the students to guess their own clothing price with each other.Game Two: Teacher shows some clothing and ask the students to guess like this: Is it 10 yuan? Is
10、 it 2 dollars? Are they 50 yuan? Are they 11 dollars?These two games can arouse the students interests and they can also help the students to communicate with each other.Step III Consolidation1.Ask the students to look at 3b to talk about freely.This part can consolidate the students communicating a
