2、6) was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the worlds pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called Englands national poet and the Bard of Avon. His surviving works, including some collaborations, consist of about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two

3、long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.01Introduction to ShakespeareThe Writing StyleShakespeare produced most of his known work between 1589 and 1613. His early pl

4、ays were mainly comedies and histories, genres he raised to the peak of sophistication and artistry by the end of the sixteenth century. He then wrote mainly tragedies until about 1608, including Hamlet, King Lear, and Macbeth, considered some of the finest works in the English language. In his last

9、be described as a sequence of feet, each foot being a specific sequence of syllable types. 某种固定的轻重搭配叫“音步”(foot)。一行诗中轻重搭配出现的次数叫音步数(meter)一个重读音节与一或两个轻读音节按一定的模式搭配起来,有规律的反复出现就是英文诗歌的节奏。轻读音节是“抑”,重读音节是“扬”如一轻一重,是抑扬格。抑扬格很符合英文的发音规律,所以在英语诗歌中应用最多的就是抑扬格,百分之八十以上的英文诗歌都用的是抑扬格02ExampleShall I compare thee to a Summe
