44、, which is equipped with a large multi-player mode. He started playing the game at university in 1995 and now spends five to seven hours a day in virtual reality. "Coming home from work and then logging on to check email often leads to playing the game," explains Wu. "This usually mea
45、ns I don't have time for other things like grocery shopping or cleaning the apartment." Researchers point out that gaming against others in a multi-player mode is more likely to devolve into compulsive behavior than playing solitary games against artificial intelligence: "You need the
46、presence of a lot of other people. This raises the question if this is really addictive behavior or compelled to be social."Dr Bruce Ballon, head of CAMH's Adolescent Clinical and Educational Services for problem gambling, gaming and Internet use, says that his practice focuses on 16- t0 24
