1、Unit 7 Will people have robots? (Section A1a-2c)Teaching Plan by Huang from * Middle School Good morning, Ladies and gentlemen. Im honored to have the chance to share my teaching ideas with you. My lesson is taken from the first period of unit 7 in book 1 for Grade 8 . The title is “Will people have
2、 robots?” My teaching plan will include 5 parts. They are teaching material analysis, analysis of the students, teaching methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design.Part 1 Teaching material analysis1. Status and function The theme of unit 7 is about “life in the future.” Students will learn t
3、he usage of simple future tense and master how to make predictions. The contents can raise students interest to express their ideas about the future with full imagination. It is related to the contents of unit 6 and unit 10, so unit 7 plays an important role in this book and simple future tense is a
4、lways examined in tests. 2. Teaching objectivesAccording to the general description about the total objectives in English Curriculum Standards and the analysis above, I put forward the following teaching objectives:A) Knowledge objectives:Master the key words and key sentences structures, Grasp the
5、usage of simple future tense.B) Ability objectives: Improve the four skills, especially the ability of speaking and listening; develop the ability of thinking independently.C) Moral objectives: Stimulate students motivation, establish self-confidence, Cultivate their cooperative ability by arranging
6、 different kinds of activities.3. The important and difficult points The important points: grasp the usage of simple future tense; know how to make predictions; master the structure of “There will be” The difficult points: grasp the usage of simple future tense; understand some useful phrases and lo
7、ng sentences and use them properly.Part 2 Analysis of the students and learning strategiesFor the students of Grade 8, their age is generally around 14. They are more curious about new things, so their interests in learning are easier to be aroused. After one years study and practice under the new c
8、ourse standard, they have had some basic knowledge of words, grammar and language structure and also, primary abilities of cooperation, and exploration.So in this lesson, students will master simple future tense by comparing it with simple present tense and simple past tense, learn the key words and
9、 sentences by listening and master by speaking.Part 3 Teaching methods 1. Task-based Language Teaching Approach (任务型语言教学方法)In this lesson, I will create some real situations according to the book, so that the students can finish different tasks and get a better understanding of the target language.2
10、. Communicative Approach(语言交际法) Students can learn to make predictions by communicating with each other in pairs or groups.3. Audio-lingual Method(听说法)Using the computer to give students a video and some listening materials, it can increase students interests and train their listening ability.Part 4
11、 Teaching proceduresNow lets go to the most important part-teaching procedures. I will divide the teaching procedures into 6 steps.Step 1: Warm up and lead in (5mins)a. At the beginning of the class, I will give them a video to watch. This will be an exciting and important part. The video is employe
12、d to warm up the students, and can draw their attention.b. After watching this video, I will ask students “Do you think there will be (将会有) robots in peoples homes in the future?”.( The answer should be “yes”. In fact , from the video above, we can see that weve already had robots in some peoples ho
13、mes.)Step 2: Presentation (13mins)a. Make students understand the simple future tense with “will” by showing a picture on the screen. Lead students to compare simple future tense with simple present tense and simple past tense. b. Students discuss about the question “How will your future be differen
14、t 100 years from now?”. Lead students to read the predictions in Activity 1a, and tell their partners if he or she agrees or disagrees with them. Ask some students to show the predictions that they agree.Step 3: Practice (20mins)a. Listening practice:students listen to the tapes about Activity 1b ca
15、refully and give their answers. Then I will give them the right answers.b. Pair work: students make a dialogue with their partner about the predictions above with “will” structure. This task will also train students spoken English.c. Game: Divide the class into 4 groups. Show some pictures and key w
16、ords/ phrases of predictions about the future on the screen. Students in each group take turns to say a sentence about the picture. The one who can say the sentence correctly gets one point. The group that gets the most points will be rewarded.Step 4: Summary the key points (5mins)Step 5: Homework (2mins)Use “I think in 100 years. ” to write 6 predictions about the future.Part 5 Blackboard designIn my lesson, I will
