TeachingPlanofBusinessLetterGoodafternoon,mydearcollegesandprofessors.Ifeelhdoehuyg.I’mgoingtotalkaboutmyteachingplanforUnit1ofBusinessthefundamentalsofwriting.Thisspeechconsistsof4parts:teachingMaterial,teachingmethods,learningmethodsandteachingprocedures.First,I’dliketosaysomethingabouttheteachingIthas3andfunction,teachingaimsanddemands,teachingkeypointsanddifficulties.StatusandfunctionBusinessLetterisarequiredcourseforBusinessEnglishMajorinthegrade.ThetextbookwechooseisBusinessLetterfromCenturyBusinessEnglishSeries;alsoanothertextbookeditedbyProfessorZhaoYindeisusedasareference.Thiscourseismainlytalkingaboutinternationalsds,netfbusinessletterandsomecommonlyusedwordsandexpressions.ThiscourseishelpfulforthebusinessEnglishmajortoenhancetheabilitytoreadandwritebusinessEnglishandtotrainthestudents’capacityfordealingwithforeigntradeaffairs.Unit1isaboutfundamentalsofmodernbusinessletterwriting,whichincludes basicrequirementsofbusinessletterwriting,basicpartsofbusinessthebasicformatofbusinessandaddressingenvelopes.Iwilljustfinishthefirst3partsduringthefirstforty-fiveminutes.ThesepartsareveryimportantintheprocessoflearningthiscoursebecausetheformatandstructureofbusinessletterarethebasicelementsofbusinessWhenyouwriteayoumustchooseacorrectformattoconveycertaininformation.Ifyourformatisincorrect,forexample,youputthecomplimentaryatawrongplaceoryouuseBritishEnglishandAmericanEnglishtoexpressdateatthesametime,itlooksweird.Andtherequirements,mostofthetimewecallitcriteria,willdecidestudents’writingstyleintheirfuturelearning.Sothesepartswillserveasaguideandcriteriaforstudents’futurebusinessEnglishwriting.TeachingaimsanddemandsBylearningthefirst3partsofUnit1,studentsareexpectedtogetthebasicknowledgeoftheformsandtherequirementsofbusinessAlsothestudentsareexpectedtogettheabilitytowritebusinessEnglishlettersinoneofthe4formsandtoarrangeletterpartsinproperstructure.Forcultureobjects,students’awarenessofthedifferencesbetweenBritishEnglishandAmericanEnglishandofthedifferencesbetweenformalEnglishandinformalEnglishwillbetheirwriting,thethedate,thesalutation,themainbody,thecomplimentarymustbeconsistent.ThatmeansiftheyuseBritishEnglishtoexpressdate,thentheymustuseBritishEnglishinsalutation,andcomplimentary.AndiftheyuseformalEnglishinthemainbody,theymustuseformalEnglishincomplimentary.StudentsarerequiredtonotethisruleandtrytomastermoredifferentEnglishexpressionstomaketheirwritingsexcellent.TeachingKeyPointsanddifficultiesTeachingkeypointsare1)theformatofbusinessletter,2)themainpartsofbusinessletterandthecontentofeachpart.Ihavetalkedabouttheimportanceoftheseparts.Teachingdifficultiesare1)therequirementsforbusinessletterwriting,2)theconsistenceofbusinessActuallyIthinktheseteachingdifficultiesarestilltheteachingdifficultiesforthiscourse,becausewritingskillscannotbeimprovedovernight,andformanyyearsstudentsnoticedtherequirementsandconsistenceofEnglishwritingstyle.Itwilltakethemalongtimetomeettherequirements.Second,teachingmethods.Iusemultimediacomputerintheprocessofmyteaching.IthinkPPTisagreattoolinteaching.SometimesIthinkintegratingdifferentpartsinthetextbookisbetterforthestudentstogettheknowledge,andsometimesIneedtoshowstudentssomecasesthatarenotincludedinthetextbook.AlsoIwilladoptElicitationmethodandTee.nsIwillgiveeachofthestudentsacopyofabusinessStudentswillanddiscusstheofinpairs.ThenIwillchecktheirdiscussionandpresentallthepartsofabusinessthispart,IwillgivethemadisorderedletterandaskthemtoputthestructureinproperIthinktheseteachingmethodscanmakethestudentsmastertheknowledgewell,andeasyforthemtorememberallthepartsandtheirorderofabusinessThird,LeaningmethodsStudentswillgettheknowledgebyreadingthetextddenr,geontheirown,listeningtotheteacheranddoingpractice.Forth,teachingproceduresThispartcontains6steps:lead-in,fastreading,analysisofthegivenletter,multimediainstruction,practiceandassignment.Forthefirststep,Ijustmakeabriefintroductiontothiscourse,whichmayincludeobjects,content,teachingkey points and difficultiesand teachingprocedures.essetsfs,Iktforstudentstogetthegeneralideaofthiscourse.Thusthestudentscanplanandstrategiesaccordingtoit.AlsoIwillannouncethegeneralrequirementsforthestudents,sothatwecouldcooperatewellinfuturestudy.Thesecondstepisfast-reading.Inthispart,Iwillgivestudentstwoquestionsbasedonpart1,andletthemfinishitbyfast-reading.ThenIwillchecktheiranswerandfurtherexplaineachpartbriefly.Next,IwillgiveeachofthestudentsacopyofabusinessandaskthemtodiscusswiththeirpartnersaboutthestructureandpartsofthebusinessInthefourthstepofmyteaching,IwilldiscussthestructureandthebusinessletterbasedonthegivenAtthesametimeIwillshowthemtheIdt2ds3rny.Ilononeformofbusinessletterandexplaineachpart,especiallysomedifficultpoints.Afterthemultimediainstruction,thestudentsarerequiredtofinishthepracticeinthetextbook.Thatistoarrangetheletterpa
