modificationandmaintenance,theswitch-offproceduresgivenintheBAaretobeobservedand

WepointoutthatthecompletedrivemustbeequippedwithanEmergencyshut-offdeviceanda

switchingwhichpreventsself-starting.Theswitchingmustbeusedinaccordancewiththe

Thegearboxforthepropulsionofwindgeneratorsisahelicalgearboxinatriplestage

version.Thedriveshaftisconnectedwiththerotorshaftbyashrinkdisc.Thehousingis

suppliedwithtwotorquearmscapabletopickupelasticrubberdampers,whichlinkthe

gearboxtothenacelle.

thatadditionalheatingelementswarmupthelubricant.Inthiscaseitisproposedtokeep

theturbineintorquelessidlingmodeatrotorspeedsofabout1-2rpminordertoprevent

theoilfromcracking.

Thegearboxhasthetasktotransfertherotortorquetothegenerator.Therotorspeedis

increasedtothesynchronousspeedofthegenerator.

ASSEMBLYINSTRUCTIONFORSHRINKDISC(seealsoBAAssembly,Item5)

Beforeassemblingthegearboxe´shollowshafttotherotorshaft,degreasethemating

surfacesofrotorshaftandshaftborecarefully.

Tightentheboltssteadilyandclockwise(notcrosswise!).Tightentotheprescribedtorque

inseveralstepsbyuseofatorquewrench.Repeattheprocedureuntilallboltshave

reachedtheprescribedtorque.

Thetorqueforthehexagonboltsisstatedinthedimensionaldrawing.Inordertosecure

thecorrectprestressforce,thethreatshavetobespreadwithMOLYCOTEG-RAPID.

Whendisassembling,takecarethatallboltsareuntightenedandscrewthemoutafew

threads.Usepull-offscrewsanduntightentheshrinkdiscbythreadingthepull-offscrews

steadilyandcrosswise.

Ifavailabletheinstructionsoftheshrinkdiscsupplierarevalid(

seeTechnicalData

chapter8.4).

MAINTANANCE

Allscrewsoftheshrinkdisc,thetorquesupportconnection,theringgearsandthe

housingswitheachother,havetobecheckedafter6and12monthsafterstart-up.

base.Theconnectionbetweengearboxandbasemustnotberigid,ifdamagetogearboxbearings

orthemachineshaftistobeavoided.
