一般过去时只强调过去的动作；现在完成时强调过去的事情对现在的影响。②

一般过去时通常与表示过去的时间状语连用；现在完成时则不能与表示过去的时间状语连用。③

一般过去时单纯表示过去的经历；现在完成时表示过去的动作或状态延续到现在并可能持续下去。Summary表示短暂(瞬间性)的动词可以用于现在完成时，但在现在完成时的句中不能和一段时间连用.即不能用for,since短语或howlong问句。如果要用短暂性动词表达“他已…了三年了”可用以下表达法：用ago,使用一般过去时。
