VI.Teachingprocedures:

Step1.Greetingandleading-in(5minutes)

Teachergreetsthestudentsandaskssomesimplequestionsabouttheirphysicalappearance.Then,theteachershowsthepicturesofdifferentpeople’sappearancesandasksthestudentstodescribethemusingtheadjectivesthey’velearned.

Step2.Presentation(10minutes)

Teacherintroducesthenewvocabularywords,e.g.

tall,short,fat,thin,strong,weak,byshowingtheflashcardsandaskingthestudentstorepeatafterher.Teacherthenhasthestudentspracticepronouncingthesewordsandexplainstheirmeanings.

Step3.Practice(15minutes)

Theteacherdividestheclassintogroupsandhasthempracticeaskingandansweringquestionsaboutpeople’sappearances.Eachgroupwillreceiveapictureofapersonandtheyaresupposedtoaskandanswerquestionsabouttheperson’sappearanceusingtheadjectivesthey’velearned.Theteacherwalksaroundtheclassroom,monitoringandassistingthestudentsasneeded.

Step4.Interactivegame(15minutes)

Theteacherwillorganizeaninteractivegamenamed“GuessWho”.Theteacherputsafewpicturesofpeopleontheboard,andcoversthenames.Thestudentstaketurnstoaskquestionsaboutthepeople’sappearancesinordertoguesstheiridentities.Thefirststudenttoguesscorrectlywinsthegame.

Step5.Homework(5minutes)

Theteacherassignsthehomework,whichisforthestudentstodescribethephysicalappearanceofoneoftheirfamilymembersusingtheadjectivesthey’velearned.
