Abstract:Englishasaninternationallanguagehasbecomeasecondlanguageinmanycountries.InChina,moreandmoreprimaryschoolstudentsstartlearningEnglish.Thedesignandevaluationoftextbooksandhomeworkareimportantissues.ThispapermainlyexploresthedesignprinciplesandevaluationstandardsofEnglishtextbooksandhomeworkforprimaryschoollowgrades,aimingtoprovidereferenceforteachers.Byliteratureanalysis,fieldresearchandexpertinterview,theauthorbelievesthatthedesignofEnglishtextbooksforprimaryschoollowgradesshouldbebasedonpracticality,interestingnessandgradualness.Thedesignofhomeworkshouldembodyconsolidation,inspirationandcomprehensiveness.Evaluationcriteriashouldbecomprehensiveevaluationfromlearningeffect,learningmethod,learninginterestandteachereffectiveness.

1、Introduction

AsEnglishisincreasinglybecomingtheinternationallanguage,moreandmorecountriesandindividualsarepayingattentiontoEnglishlearning.InChina,Englishhasbecomeanimportantsubjectinprimaryschooleducation,andtheteachingofEnglishinprimaryschoollowgradeshasbecomeanimportanttopic.Thedesignandevaluationoftextbooksandhomeworkhavebecomethefocusofattentionofmanyteachersandparents.Therefore,itisnecessarytoexplorethedesignprinciplesandevaluationstandardsofEnglishtextbooksandhomeworkforprimaryschoollowgrades.

2、DesignprinciplesofEnglishtextbooksforprimaryschoollowgrades

AsEnglishisaforeignlanguageforChinesestudents,thedesignofEnglishtextbooksshouldfocusonpracticality,interestingnessandgradualness.

2.1Practicality

Practicalitymeansthetextbookshouldcatertotheneedsofstudentsindailylifeandlearning.Thecontentofthetextbookshouldbecloselyrelatedtothestudents’lifeandexperience,anditshouldhelpstudentstoacquiretheknowledgeandskillstheyneedintheirdailylife.

2.2Interestingness

Interestingnessmeansthetextbookshouldattractstudents’attentionandarousetheirinterest.Thetextbookshouldberichincontent,diverseinform,andstimulatingtostudents’thinkingandimagination,soastopromotetheirdesiretolearnEnglish.

2.3Gradualness

Gradualnessmeansthetextbookshouldbedesignedforgradualimprovement.StudentsofprimaryschoollowgradesareatthebeginningstageofEnglishlearning,andtheyarenotfamiliarwiththeEnglishlanguage.Therefore,thetextbookcontentshouldbearrangedgradually,startingwiththemostbasiccontentandgraduallyprogressingtomorecomplexcontent,soastofacilitatestudents’understandingandmasteryofEnglishknowledge.
