5W(what,who,when,where,why)要素。
(2023春·江苏徐州·高二统考期中)InanagewhenmostChinesepeoplethoughtthatalunareclipse(月食)wasasignofangrygods,WangZhenyi(1768-1797),anastronomerandmathematicianwhoworkedtirelesslytopublishherdiscoveriesaboutspace,said,“Actually,it’sdefinitelybecauseoftheMoon.”Wangwasbornatatimewhenfeudal(封建的)customsinChinapreventedgirlsfromgettingaformaleducation.However,shewasfortunatethatherfamilyencouragedherinlearning.Hergrandfather,aformerdistrictgovernor,sharedhisknowledgeofastronomywithher,whileherfather,amedicinalscholar,taughtherbasicmath.Despitebeingdeniedformaleducation,Wangwasdeterminedtolearnandbecameself-taught,studyingavastcollectionofbooksonvarioussubjects.OneofWang’smostfamousdemonstrationsinvolvedcreatingamodeltoexplainalunareclipse.Afterconsultingdecadesofastronomicalrecords,sheusedalamp,amirrorandaroundtabletorespectivelysymbolizetheSun,theMoonandtheEarth.Bymovingtheobjectsaround,shewasabletoshowthatalunareclipsehappenedwhentheMoonpasseddirectlybehindtheEarthandmovedintoitsshadow.HerarticleTheExplanationofaLunarEclipseisstillconsideredhighlyaccurateforitstime.DuringtheQingdynasty,theWesterncalendarwasintroducedtoChina.WangarguedforitsadoptionbecauseitwasbasedonthemovementoftheSun.ManyChinesescholarsrejectedtheideaforithadcomefromtheWest,towhichWangsimplyresponded,“Whatcountsistheusefulness,nomatterwhetheritisChineseorWestern.”Tomakemathandscienceaccessibletocommonpeople,shespentyearspublishingarticleshopingtomaketheseancientandpoorlyunderstoodconceptseasiertodigest.Sheexplainedtherotation(旋转)oftheplanets,andeventhePythagoreantheorem(勾股定理)forbeginners.Unfortunately,mostofWangZhenyi’sworkshavenotpassedthetestoftime,buthercontributionscontinuetoberecognizedinmoderntimes.In1994,theInternationalAstronomicalUnionnamedacrater(环形山)onVenusafterher.Wang’slegacycontinuestoinspireandencouragefuturegenerationstopursueknowledgeandinnovation.”1.WhywasitdifficultforWangtoreceiveaformaleducation?A.Herfamilyemphasizesherself-taughteducation.B.Herfamilyencouragehertofollowfeudalcustoms.C.Shecamefromaupperclassfamilywithagoodschooling.D.Shelivedinatimewhengirlswerenotallowedtoattendschool.2.WhichofthefollowingbestdescribeWang’spersonalities?A.Shewasdependentandcurious.
