outoftheinformationIhadpresented.Insteadofgettingperplexed,Iusedthat

approach,andithelpedmefindanappropriateanswer.

Lastyear,Iusedthatapproachwhendealingwithconfusingdata.Insteadof

gettingdiscouraged,Ikeptexploringthedataandendedupidentifyinganewtypeof

cell—onethatwasn'tbehavingasexpected.IfIhadn*tstayedopentothepossibility

thattheresultswerereal,Iwouldhavemissedoutonthemostexcitingfindingofmy

Ph.D.programsofar.
