IndiaandKorea.Thisyear,65percentofitsstudentsareAsian-American,compared

with44percentin2022.ManyofthemarethefirstintheirfamiliesbornintheUnited

States.Theyhavehadagrowinginfluenceonthedistrict.Asian-Americanparentsare

enthusiasticsupportersofthecompetitiveinstrumentalmusicprogram.Theyhavebeen

hugesupportersofthedistrict'sadvancedmathematicsprogram,whichoncebeganin

thefourthgradebutwillnowstartinthesixth.Thechangetotheprogram,inwhich90

percentoftheparticipatingstudentsareAsian-American,isoneofAderhold'sreforms.

[F]Asian-Americanstudentshavebeeneagerparticipantsinastateprogramthat

permitsthemtotakesummerclassesoffcampusforhighschoolcredit,allowingthem

tomaximizethenumberofhonorsandAdvancedPlacementclassestheycantake,

childrenattendingsupplementaryinstructionalprograms,thereisaperceptionamong
