WhenIcheckedmypatientacoupleofminutesafterstartinghischemotherapy,Iaskedhimquestionsrelatedto

InfactthisU.S.readingcrisishasbeen20yearsinthemaking.Whileone-thirdofstudentsareconsidered

proficient,thestatisticsareevenmorealarmingforlow-incomestudents,studentsofcolorandstudentswith

disabilities.

Meanwhile,theCOVID-19pandemic(流行•病)hasexposedagrowing“digitaldivide”inwhichthosewithout
