In1569(thethirdyearofLongqing),QiJiguang,afamousgeneralofemperorMuZongoftheMingDynasty,speciallyappointedtofightagainstJapaneseinvaders,ledthearmytorenovatethetwothousandliGreatWall,includingtheMutianyusection.Asof20__,theGreatWallpreservedinMutianyuisoneofthebestpreservedsitesofthegreatwalloftheMingDynasty.
