读后续写情绪描写题型分析01情感也会有动物的一些特点,会悄无声息地“爬”到你身边,即用动词crawl/creep(爬),有时还会gnaw(咬)、swallow/swallow(吞噬)你。例如:Happinesscrawlsuptothetipsofhisbrows.他喜上眉梢。(字面意思是“幸福爬到他的眉毛尖”)Aslightfeelingoffearslowlycreptonhim.他慢慢感到一丝恐惧。(crept是creep过去式,意思是“爬”)Self-doubtbegantognawawayatherconfidence.自我怀疑正在蚕食她的自信心。Fearswallowedher.她非常惊恐。(字面意思是“恐惧吞掉了我”,是不是很形象?)有人说:“积极的心态像太阳,照到哪里哪里亮;消极的心态像月亮,初一十五不一样。”所以说,情感和光线变化密切相关。我们也有这种生活体验,在晴朗的(sunny)天气,人们会感到开朗高兴,情感像光一样散发(radiate)与传播(spreadacross),而阴云密布(cloudy)或者光线晦暗(dark)则让人心情阻塞、郁闷不快。例如:Joyshonefromhisbrow.他喜上眉梢。Happinessradiatesfromherface.她容光焕发。Smilespreadacrosshisface.他满脸笑容。在中文中,我们有时候说某种负面情绪的时候,可以这么表达“很压抑,压得我喘不过气来”,这里的“压”显示出,在描写情感时候,赋予它重量感。英文也是如此:忧虑、悲伤、愤怒等消极情感犹如重担压在……上面(bearon),需要人们承受(carry),而这些情感负担的卸去(unburden)、失去(lose)则会让人感到轻松、获得解脱。例如:Griefbearsheavilyonher.她承受着悲伤的巨大压力。还有以“人”作主语的:Hewasburdenedwithworries.他心事重重。(burden“装载,负重”。非常有意思是,在汉语中,“心事重重”中的“重”是一个多音字,也读zhong,“负重”的“重”。)hemanagercarriedhisanger.经理怒火冲冲。AfterIlostmytemper,Ifeltlighter.发脾气之后,我感到轻松多了。(lostmytemper字面意思好像是“失去了脾气”,其实就是情绪失控,发脾气)Unburdeningherselfofherangergaveherasenseofrelief.释放了怒火后,她感到一种解脱。(burden“装载,负重”,加上了否定前缀un-,意思为“卸去负担”)在汉语中,如果用一个成语来形容两个人感情很好,我们可以用“水乳交融”,水和乳都是液体。同样的道理,在英语中,情感也常常被比作液体。常见的名词有:波纹(ripple)或波浪(wave)或洪流(flood)常见的动词有:涌出(wellup),涌动(surge),甚至冲,卷(sweep),有时注满/盛满/占满(fill/brim/takepossessionof)容器,有时漫出/溢出(overflow/well)容器,在高温下甚至会沸腾(boil)。我们来看下面的例句:Panicsurgedupwithinhim.他惶恐不安。(surge“涌起”,字面的意思是“恐惧在他身体里涌起”)Theterriblescenefilledherwithfear.恐怖的场景使她十分害怕。Awaveofpanicsweptoverher.一阵惊恐袭上她的心头。Thelonelinessandgriefcomesinwaves.阵阵孤独与痛苦袭上心头。当然还有用“人”做主语的:Hisheartisoverflowingwithjoy.他满怀喜悦。Icouldfeelangerboilingupinsideme.我感到怒火中烧。(字面意思是“愤怒”已经“沸腾了”)Hewasbrimmingwithsorrowwhenshelefthim.她离开他时,他满怀悲伤。(brim是“边缘”的意思,作动词表示“溢出”。字面意思是“悲伤这种情绪从内心溢出来了。”)人们常被情感掌控,受其制约。而中文中的“掌控”就是来源于“手掌”。于是,情感就可以比喻成一双无形的手,非常贴切。我们发现:用于手的一些动作可以直接应用于某种情感。这类动作有:表示“抓住”类的动词:seize,grasp,grip,takeholdof表示“覆盖”:cover表示“撕成碎片”:tearintopieces我们来看下面几个例句:Feargrippedherheart.她心中充满恐惧。Jealousyseizedher.Awildjoytookholdofher.她十分快乐。Afeelingofpanicseizedher.她突然惊慌失措。Anxietytoreherintopieces.她焦虑不安,身心憔悴。(tore是tear的过去式,表“撕扯”)Angerandbitternesscovereduponmeforweeks.我好几周都沉浸在愤怒和痛苦中。(bitterness是bitter“痛苦的”名词形式)汉语里也有类似的说法:“我被什么情绪打败了”。将情感比喻成人的对手,那么人与情感之间的关系仿佛在比赛或斗争。但是汉语中,这种表达中情绪更多是负面情绪,而英文中,则没有这个限制。被情感这个对手“击败”,动词通常是getthebetterof或者getthebestof(都表示“胜过”)Hestoodup,huggedhisparents,andsmiled,tryingnottolethisemotionsgetthebetterofhim.他站起来,抱住爸爸妈妈,并露出笑容,努力不让情感控制他。在这句里,就用到了getthebetterof的结构。我们再看几个例子:Enthusiasmgetsthebetterofme.我太激动了。(enthusiasm热情)Enthusiasmgetsthebetterofme.我太激动了。(enthusiasm热情)Boredomoftengetsthebestofthem.他们常感到非常无聊。(boredom无聊)Hiscuriositygotthebetterofhim.他异常好奇。(curiosity好奇心)我们可以控制情感,反过来,情感也可以变得强大,反客为主,成了统治者,压迫者,我们被情感控制。这类动词可以是:oppress压迫,甚至是deprive(表示剥夺,deprive通常与of搭配),还可以是prey(捕猎,折磨)。我们来看下面几个例句:Worryingdeprivedhimofsleep.他焦虑万分,难以入睡。Excitementdeprivedmeofallpowerofspeech.我激动得什么话都说不出来。Astonishmentandhorroroppressedher.她惊恐不安。Angerandbitternesshadpreyeduponmecontinually.我经常感到愤怒和痛苦。(prey本意是“捕猎”,在这里引申为“折磨”。这是非常形象的表达,“愤怒”和“痛苦”像猎人一样,而“我”成了猎物,不就是“我”被这两种情绪折磨着吗?)模拟练习02阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
