next?

2:0nahotsummerdayinlastAugust,Isoughtshadeandacool

drinkatawaterfrontcafeonaGreekisland.Overahundreddegreesinair.

A.freshB.coolC.stillD.thin

例l:Themanstepped___1___forthetwochairs.Hepolitely___2___hisladyin

theknee-deepwaterandthensatdownhimself.

1.A.outsideB.forwardC.downD.back

2.A.ledB.seatedC.watchedD.received

A.encouragingB.hopelessC.surprisingD.regular

A.declaredB.mentionedC.persuadedD.suggested

2:Moreover,inaccurateorindefinitewordsmaymakedifficultforthe

listenertounderstandthemessagewhichisbeingtransmittedtohim.

A.thatB.itC.soD.this

解析:Bo

例3:FinallyPeterdecidedtogototheUSAand,ashisfatherhadtoldhim,

tobeadoctor.A.studiesB.studyingC.studyD.studied

例l:Oneday,thegirl___1___intotheplane,starteditandsoonleftthe___2___.

1.A.climbedB.lookedC.reachedD.fell

2.A.houseB.floorC.waterD.ground

解析:1.A。2.D。

2:Immediatelytheofficersjumpedintotheircarsandrushedtothe

hospital.

A.animalB.biggestC.plantD.nearest

3:Everymorningshewouldgivehimbreakfastinbedandbringhimthepaperto

A.checkB.readC.keepD.sign

A.disturbedB.movedC.attractedD.defeated

2:However,thetypicalteenagelifestyleisalreadyfilledwithsomuch

competitionthatitwouldbe

___1___toplanactivitiesinwhichtherearemorewinnersthanlosers,___2___,

publishingnewsletterswithmanystudent-writtenbookreviews,___3___studentartwork,

andsponsoringbookdiscussionclubs.

3.A.displayingB.describingC.creatingD.exchanging

解析:A。

1:Awaiterappeared.Hepausedfbrjustasecond,walkedintothewaterto

thetableand,,,,A.setB.washC.removeD.check

解析:A。

veryfirstday.A.stayedB.cameC.droppedD.fell

3.Withit,astronautswillacquireaworkhousevehicleofflyinginto

spaceandreturningmanytimes.

A.capableB.suitableC.efficientD.fit

4.„„Duringthesummerholidays,theyusuallymuchtimeplaying

footballontheplayground.

A.useB.needC.takeD.spend

doingsth.

do(ajob,work,shopping,cooking,reading,typing,sewing,good,wrong,damage,

harm,afavor,aninjury,etc.

make(astudy,anappointment,arrangements,abreakthrough,acall,acomparison,

contribution,adeal,adecision,adiscovery,distinction,aguess,preparations,astart,a

start,asurvey,anattempt,anerror,aprofit,afortune,aliving,one'sway,sense,point,

peace,bed,coffee,afuss,etc.

例l:Whcnthewaiterbroughtmy,themanwasclearlypuzzledbythe„„

A.menuB.billC.paperD.food

2:Firstofallhewasawindow-cleanerandinhisfirstweekhe

managedtosixwindows.

A.rubB.dropC.breakD.clean

school---primaryschool—middleschool——college-university

students-pupils-graduates-postgraduates

school一teach一learn-attend一found—dropout-graduate-bedismissed

some...,others;ononehand...,ontheotherhand;former...,latter;so...that;not

only...butalso;

hardly/scarcely...when...;nosooner...than...;beabouttodo/bedoing/haddone

/beonthepointofdoing/betodo/bereadytodo/beontheway...when...;

例3:1putmyheadin,expectingtheworst.Buttomysurprise,theroomwasn91

emptyatall.Ithadfurniture,curtains,aTV,andevenpaintingsonthewall.Andthenon

thewell-madebedsatAmy,mynew,dressedneatly.

A.roommateB.classmateC.neighborD.companion

4:Weweretogobackforclassagainwhentheheadmastercalledus

togetherandsaid,„A.aboutB.ableC.sorryD.sure

Jl:Atthetablenexttominesatanattractivecouple,waitingfbr....

A.lonelyB.curiousC.well-dressedD.bad-tempered

2:Geeseareknowntotakethefirstlivingthingtheyseeastheirmother.,

totheseyounggeese,thegirlwastheirmother.

A.ButB.AlsoC.ThusD.Still

解析:CoA.But“但是"B.Also"也"C.Thus“因而"D.Still“仍然”。

(列3:AfteryouhavelearnedtothinkofseveralwordsinEnglish,thenmoveonto

thenextstep-thinkingin.

A.sentencesB.passagesC.lessonsD.classes

解析:A。

4:Somepartsofthewaterareveryshallow.Butinsomeplacesitisvery.

A.deepB.highC.coldD.dangerous

解析:A。

Ao

centuryandthe

diffusionofprintinginthe15thand16thcenturies.Yetmuchhadhappened_1—.

Aswasdiscussedbefore,itwasnot_2—the19thcenturythatthenewspaperbecame

thedominantpre-electronic_3—.

1.A.betweenB.beforeC.sinceD.later

2.A.afterB.byC.duringD.until

3.A.meansB.methodC.mediumD.measure

解析:LA.2.D.3.C。

1.递进

inaddition,furthermore,again,also,besides,moreover,what'smore,what'sworse,

tomakemattersworse,tomakethingsworse,worsestill

2.比较

inthesameway,aswith,similarly,equally,incomparison,justas

3.对照

incontrast,ontheotherhand,instead,however,nevertheless,unlike,onthecontrary,

while

4.因果

because,becauseof,for,since,dueto,owingto,thanksto,asaresult(of,so,thus

5.强调

certainly,aboveall,indeed,ofcourse,surely,actually,asamatteroffact,especially,

inparticular,absolutely,6.让步

although,though,afterall,inspiteof

7.举例

forexample,forinstance,thatis,namely,suchas,inotherwords,inthiscase,by

wayofillustration.

afterward,after,first,later,then,soon,finally,atlast

outside,near,beyond,above,below,ontheright(left,inthemiddle,opposite,in

frontof

9.总结

tosumup,toconclude,inaword,inshort,inbrief,allinall,inall,insummary

例1:IthasbeenmanyyearssinceIwaslastinLondonIstillremember

somethingthathappenedduringthatvisit.

A.andB.forC.butD.as

2:Gettingenoughvitaminsisessentialtolife,althoughthebodyhasno

nutritionaluseforexcessvitamins.Manypeoplebelieveinbeingonthe"safe

side"andthustakeextravitamins.
