Thereservehasseenthebirthof2,000orientalstorkssince2003whenthebirdsfirst

nestedthere.Theincreaseinthenumberofwildbirdsinthereserve,especiallyendangered

species,reflectsthearea'simprovedecology.

Wangowedtheimprovementtoanumberofwetlandrecoveryprojects,suchaswater

replenishmentandturningfarmlandbackintowetland.Atotalof155millioncubicmetersof

waterwassuppliedtothereserveinJulytoreplenishgroundwater.Waterreplenishment,

startedin2008,helpsbringbackthewetlandandcreatesabetterenvironmentforfish.It

ensuresenoughfoodsuppliesforthebirds.
