Unit4EverydayEconomicsPresentingideas(2019)isatextintheseniorhighschoolEnglishtextbook.Themaincontentofthistextistoshowandexpresstheviewsandtheoriesofeconomics,andtointroducethestudents'thinkingandapplicationofeconomicsindailylife.

Teachingobjectives:

1.LanguageskillsGoal:Studentscanexpresstheirideasandopinionsaccuratelywithcorrectgrammarandvocabulary.

2.Subjectknowledgeobjective:Studentscanunderstandandapplysomebasicconceptsandviewpointsofeconomics,suchassupplyanddemand,resourceallocation,etc.

3.Subjectabilityobjective:tocultivatestudents'informationacquisitionabilityandinformationprocessingability,andimprovetheirlogicalthinkingability.

Teachingfocus:

1.Understandandmasterkeywordsandconceptsineconomics.

2.Cultivatestudents'listening,speaking,readingandwritingability,sothattheycanusetheknowledgetoexpresstheirowneconomicviews.

Teachingdifficulties:

1.Enlightenstudents'economicthinkingsothattheycanapplyeconomictheorytodailylife.

2.Developstudents'criticalthinkingandanalyticalskillssothattheycanevaluateandsolveeconomicproblems.

Analysisoflearningsituation:

Sophomorestudentsareinthestageofgradualimprovementandexpansionofthesubjectknowledgesystem,andtheirunderstandingofeconomicsisstillintheprimarystage.Theiroverallknowledgeofeconomicsmaybeweak,andtheyneedtodeepentheirunderstandingthroughrichexamplesandpracticaltraining.Inaddition,thestudents'Englishlevelisgenerallygood,andtheyhaveacertainabilityoflistening,speaking,readingandwriting.

Teachingstrategy:

1.Stimulatestudents'interest:Byintroducinginterestingeconomicproblemsandcases,stimulatestudents'interestinlearningandenhancetheiractiveexplorationandthinkingofeconomics.

2.Cooperativelearning:Throughgroupcooperationtodiscussandshareideas,cultivatestudents'teamworkspiritandinteractivemunicationability.

3.Audiovisualteaching:Throughvideoandaudiorecordingandothermultimediatoolstohelpstudentstoimprovelisteningprehensionandoralexpressionskills.

4.Practicalteaching:Guidestudentstousetheirknowledgetoanalyzeandsolvepracticaleconomicproblems,improvetheirapplicationabilityanddecisionmakingability.

Teachingmethod:

1.Scenariointroductionmethod:Byshowinginterestingandrealisticeconomicproblems,studentscanstimulatetheirthinkinganddiscussion,andstimulatetheirinterestinlearning.

2.Discussionmethod:Organizestudentstohavegroupdiscussions,sharepersonalviewsandeconomictheories,andpromotethinkingcollisionandinteractivemunication.

3.Multimediateachingmethod:Byplayingrelevantvideosandrecordings,studentscanimprovetheirlanguageexpressionabilityandenhancetheirunderstandingofeconomicconceptsandviewpointsthroughlisteningtraining.

4.Practicalmethod:Designrelevantcaseanalysisandroleplayingactivities,sothatstudentscanuseeconomictheorytosolvepracticalproblemsandcultivatetheirpracticalapplicationability.

Overall,thecourseaimstocultivatestudents'economicliteracyandimprovetheircriticalthinkingandapplicationabilitybyinspiringtheireconomicthinkingandabilitytoapplyeconomicknowledgetopracticalproblemsindailylife.Throughteachingstrategiesandmethodssuchascooperativelearningandmultimediateaching,studentscanbetterunderstandandmasterthebasicconceptsandprinciplesofeconomics,andbeabletoexpressandmunicateinEnglish.

Teachingcontent:Guidestudentstothinkabouttheconceptsandimportanceofeconomics.

Teachingactivities:Usepictures,videosorobjectstoshowstudentssomemoneconomicactivityscenes,suchasshopping,investment,production,etc.Throughguidedquestions,studentsareaskedtothinkaboutthefollowingquestions:Whatiseconomics?Whyiseconomicsimportanttoourdailylives?

Thefocusoftheintroductionsessionistoarousestudents'interestineconomics,whilelayingthefoundationforsubsequentstudy.

Classroominteraction(approx.35minutes):

Content:Learnanddiscusswaystomakeideasandexpressthem.

Teachingactivity1:Guidestudentstowatchavideointerviewoneconomicissues,andaskthemtorecordintheirstudynotesthequestionsandideasthatarousetheirthinkingduringthewatchingprocess.

TeachingActivity2:Studentshavegroupdiscussionsingroups,sharetheirrecordedproblemsandopinions,andplementanddiscusswitheachother.Teacherscanprovideguidanceonquestionssuchas:"Doyouagreeordisagreewiththepointsmadeintheinterview?"Why?""Canyousuggestabettersolution?"

TeachingActivity3:Studentspresenttheirideasandproblemsanddiscussthemasawhole.Teachersguidestudentstolearnhowtoexpresstheiropinionsinastructuredwayandencouragethemtointeractanddebate.

Teachingcontent:Summarizethelearningcontentandencouragestudentstoreflectonandapplywhattheyhavelearned.

Teachingactivities:Theteacherguidesthestudentstoreviewthediscussionandlearninginclasstoday,andencouragesthemtoputforwardtheirowngainsandreflectionsinthelearningprocess.Askreflectivequestionslike,"Whatdidyoulearninthisclass?""Howdoyouapplywhatyou'velearnedtosolvereallifeproblems?"

Theendsessionfocusesonconsolidatingstudents'learning,stimulatingtheirinterestineconomics,andremindingthemtoapplywhattheyhavelearnedtoreallifesituations.

Thegoaloftheteachingprocessdesignistoarousestudents'interestthroughtheintroduction,cultivatestudents'thinkingandexpressionabilitythroughclassroominteraction,andsummarizethelearningcontentthroughtheend.Thisteachingprocessisdesignedtostimulatestudents'interestinlearningeconomicsandcultivatetheireconomicthinkingabilityandpracticalapplicationability.

Teachingreflection:

Inthisclass,duetotimeconstraints,thedepthofstudents'understandingofeconomicconceptsislimited.Ishouldgivemoreexamplesandconcretecasestostrengthenstudents'practicalapplicationability,sothattheycanbetterunderstandtheconcepts.Atthesametime,whendesigningexercises,weshouldtakeintoaccountthedifferentlevelsofstudentsandsetquestionsofdifferentdifficultyinordertohelpthemconsolidatewhattheyhavelearned.

Improvement:Increaseclassroominteractiontoallowstudentstoparticipateindiscussionsandshareideasinclasstopromotetheirunderstandingofeconomicconcepts.Addmorepracticalcasestotheteaching,sothatstudentscanapplytheknowledgetoreallife,andthroughtheanalysisofactualcases,guidestudentstothinkaboutdifferenteconomicissues.
