Butthearticleisactuallyquiteoptimistic,as
itoutlinesapotentialsolutiontothisproblem,
suggestingthatanapproach(whichinvolvesaone-hour,
next-to-no-costprogram)canclose63percentofthe
achievementgap(measuredbysuchfactorsas
grades)betweenfirst-generationandotherstudents.
