(Gongzai)V.NotablePeopleFromFoshan1.KangYouweiKangYouwei(康有为，March19,1858–March31,1927)wasaChinesescholar,notedcalligrapherandprominentpoliticalthinkerandreformerofthelateQingDynasty.HeledmovementstoestablishaconstitutionalmonarchyandwasanardentChinesenationalist.HisideasinspiredareformationmovementthatwassupportedbytheGuangxuEmperorbutloathedbyEmpressDowagerCixi.AlthoughhecontinuedtoadvocateforconstitutionalmonarchyafterthefoundationoftheRepublicofChina,Kang'spoliticalideologywasneverputintopracticalapplication.
