Thefirstquarterof2025wasthestrongestonrecordforventurecapitalraisedacrosstheU.S.,fueledbycontinuedgrowthin

artificialintelligence(AI).Notably,about37%ofthetotalcapitalraisedwasconcentratedinasinglelate-stageroundtoindustryleaderOpenAI.Amongthetechsectorshighlightedinthisreport,AIwasthedominantindustryduringthequarter,although

othersectorsalsohadstrongperformances:alternativeenergyequipment,cleantech,andadvancedmanufacturingranked

amongthetop10largestdeals,whilehealthtech,fintech,ande-commerceappearedinthetop20—highlightingthewiderangeofinnovationdrivinggrowthinmajorU.S.markets.

Colliers-designatedTechMarketsaccountedfor72.3%ofall

U.S.venturecapitalraisedinQ12025,slightlybelowthe20-

yearhistoricalaverageof73.4%since2006.Despitesome

concentrationinAI,VCspendingclearlyshowsastrongrecovery.Evenwhenexcludingmega-roundslikethe$40billionOpenAI
